A NOD, "YES. HE'S HAPPY THAT THE SCHOOL isn't working now because of the holidays. Mom and dad also great. It's the time of the year when you family comes around, no?"
"Yes. Yes. This year we'll all be going to spend the holidays with my boyfriend's family. You?"
"I spend the Christmas with my family, and the New Year with Chris's," her boyfriend. "I'm glad to see you dating seriously like this, after all that chaos you went through in college, girl," oh, yes, I may have told her about it.
"Me too!" I chuckled anxiously.
"And is your noisy neighbor still annoying you?"
I gasped, "Well, he's… my boyfriend now."
She giggled, "Oh, my. Look at that. And here I thought you might have ended up killing each other for real. You were constantly angry when you came here. Always cursing him!"
Feeling my cheeks hot, I ignored the glares of his siblings and in-laws. "He can be frustrating."
"Hatred is the closest to love, that's what my grandma used to say. And she couldn't be more right," then she passed the last item. "Card or money?"
I handed her my black card, "Here." When she gave it back to me, I took 200 dollars in cash from my wallet, "And your tip, kid. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year early. I hope your holidays will be amazing!"
"You are an angel, Thay. Happy holidays for you too," then she turned to my companions. "And for you too. Your brother is really lucky to have this one, she's the best."
Blushing, I took four of the big eco-bags with the groceries and went to the car. They tried to take it front me, but I insisted in carrying. "I'm good. I'm used at carrying weight in the gym, so, don't worry!" As we finished putting mine on the back of the car and they took theirs with them inside, I went to the driver's seat and turned on the car, opening the door for Nithya from the inside.
"Since when are you friends with the girl?"
I looked at her, "Since I arrived here. She was 19 at the time, she's 22 now. Liz is a cool kid. I always give her a free pass on of my hotels and resorts on her birthdays." Connecting my phone on the car speaker again, I put it down. "We see each other pretty much weekly, and I always give her a good tip, since she needs it, and I'm able to help."
"Why doesn't she work somewhere else?" Ethan asked confused. "If she isn't paid enough.'
"The supermarket is her uncle's, so it's better. And she hasn't graduated yet. She studying to be a Interior Designer, and is still in the second year."
"Oh," it was a mutual sound.
"But I already told her that when she gets to the time to be an intern, I'll help her out. I like the kid. She grew on me, and her personality reminds me of Alessandro, my 8th brother. Quite the bright kid."
"Graham said he talked to him and that he seemed to be your favorite sibling," Luke exclaimed and I could tell he was grinning by the tone of his voice.
"He kind is. He is also one of the ones who work managing my properties in Brazil. We are always close, and he gets me more than the others. Besides, he's the younger sibling who is more closer to me." When I was going to put Abalo Emocional by Luan Santana to play, my phone rang.
"Is Darling, Aaron?" She asked.
"Yes." Then I accepted the call, "Hi, darling."
He got it right away, "Hi, sweetheart. Where are you? I'm your place," did he got the extra key from my bag yesterday? How annoying. "I'll eat all the tiramisu if you don't arrive soon," he sulked.
"I'm almost there, darling. I went to the grocery store. And I'm with Luke, Ethan, Nithya, and Bradley. They showed up on my place earlier and decided to come with me to buy the groceries."
"Those troublemakers. Came here to get you alone. Did those bastards tried to flirt with you?"
"Oh, yeah," Luke yelled.
Nithya grinned, "She blushed so much!"
"I'm going to kill you. Sweetheart, if they try anything, kick their asses. As a woman you can do that to Nithya, this troublemaker."
Speeding up the car, I chuckled, "Darling, go to the garage, I'll be there in a minute. I bought quite a lot of things."
"Got it. Come fast, I spend the entire morning thinking about you and couldn't even work. And the four of you will fuck off as soon as all the groceries are all in her apartment. Don't even try to stay here!"
"Hm, and you said you weren't possessive," Luke mocked. "Look at you now."
"Possessive and jealous, so cute," Ethan joined.
"If you keep having funny ideas, I'm going to kick your asses as I did before. And Luke, bastard, don't flirt with my girlfriend! You too, Priyanka from eBay," that made me burst out laughing. "Ugh, I love your laugh. Come quickly, I'm already on the garage," as he said that, his voice echoed slightly.
"Almost there!" I turned one more street and the building came into view. "In front of it." Then I took the car inside the underground garage, parked and I saw him. "Right here!"
Taking my key from the car and disconnecting my phone from it, I opened the door and ran to him, then he caught me in his arms and made me wrap my legs around him. As we kissed, and I felt the burning from yesterday taking over again. The butterflies waking up in my belly one more time.
"Did they interrogate you?" He whispered.
"Yes," I chuckled in a breath.
"I should have come earlier," he kissed me again.
"It's okay. I dealt with them just fine." As he put me down, he held me tight by my waist, very close to his body.
"You didn't threaten her, did you?"
Luke feigned a gasp as he got out of my car and helped his girlfriend, "We would never do that, brother. Never. That's offensive," what a joker. "Don't worry. We just wanted to meet her, since G already met her yesterday. That asshole," were they competing for it?
"She's too good for you, brother-in-law," Nithya mocked. "We couldn't believe you got such a beauty, so we had to see it for ourselves!"
"We approve of her!" Ethan exclaimed.
"She's really good, A," Bradley added.
He scoffed, "Of course, she is. And I don't need your approval. Don't forget that I'm the oldest here."
"Priyanka of eBay," I mumbled remembering what he said, laughing my ass off again. "Jesus, sorry, Nithya, it's just," I gasped, still laughing. "I was also thinking you looked like her, but when he said that…" I chuckled harder. God, it's been ages since I last laughed so much like this. "I can't," I muttered trying to stop laughing, feeling my eyes teary.
"You two are the same," she rolled her eyes.
"And you complained about us," Luke mocked.
"Sorry," I tried still laughing.
"She'll never forget that," Aaron warned grinning. "Now, do something useful. Take the groceries to the apartment," then he proceeded to throw me over his shoulder. "And close the car as you've put it all on the elevator."
"Annoying," Ethan mumbled but did as he said, and before Aaron could take me out of there, he gave him my bag. "Don't forget this!"
