Chapter 31 - Chapter XXXI ۞ Thays ۞ Part IV

I LET MY HAND TRAVEL TO HIS THIGH and grasped it, but acted as if nothing happened. "I'm his girlfriend now. We don't keep reminiscing the past. After all, if the past was good, it would be called present. Besides, eating sea food wouldn't be just dangerous to him, but to me too. I'm also allergic to it."

He blinked surprised, "Don't get me wrong, but that actually sounds better. That way you can take a better care for each other. And well, you are right about Nicole. But my brother told you that she'll be with us in the island, right?"

Is he trying to get on my nerves? Because it's working. "Yes, Graham. I am aware of that. She dates your bastard cousin and all of your family will be there. With that in mind, she'll definitely be present. But again, she is his ex, whereas I am his current girlfriend! I don't feel the least intimidate by such a dumb and foolish girl, if that's what you might be worried about. And if she tries anything funny, I'll make sure to put her in her place."

The boy grinned, "Good. She tend to try crossing boundaries. My brother told me you have a temper, so I'm looking forward to how you will tell her to fuck off."

She tends to do what? "If she dares to try touching a string of your brother's hair, she'll have to deal with me. And you told him I have a temper?" I glared up at Aaron whose head was towering over mine.

"But you do, sweetheart."

I clicked my tongue, clearly bothered. "Yes, but you don't have to go and tell your brothers about it, Aaron. What are they going to think about me? They will probably put me in the temperamental Latin stereotype of a woman. As if I was a ticking bomb," which I low key am.

"We actually think it's better that you have a temper, sister-in-law," Graham intruded the conversation again. "In fact, most of our family has a temper, although we try our best to contain ourselves."

"Your fame of being troublemakers is quite wide indeed," I grinned. "But I'm normally cool. I only lose it when someone messes with me."

"She's like a snake," Aaron mocked and I glared at him again. "What? A snake only attacks you if you messes with them. Just like you."

"They aren't all like that. Many attack when hungry," I added stoically. "So, don't compare me to it. And you know I'm scared of it. That's not cool."

And he dared to grin, "It kind of is."

"Just like you are scared of cats?" I provoked.

His smile disappeared, "I'm not scared!"

"Yes, you are," Graham exclaimed and turned to me. "You know about that too?" He giggled. "We always mock him for it."

"I know. I have a cat, his name is Lion. He's cute, castrated, and big. Harmless. And he is scared of it. Really ridiculous. He wouldn't hurt an ant, and he just sleeps. Every time your brother is with me in my apartment, I have to put my baby in the spare room. Thankfully Lion likes it because he's able to sleep as much as he wants to."

"Oh, so you have a cat?"

I blinked, "That's what I said."

"My wife also has one!" Wife? He has a wife? What? "Emma Davey Vaughn-Solomon. It sounds amazing to call her with my surname," he blushed. "I don't know if A told you about her. She's 3 years older than me, so she's your age. 27. I think you might like her, she's looking forward to meet you." I'm going to kill Aaron.

"Oh, he told me," I lied, hardening my grip on his thigh. "And it's good that she's my age. That way I think we might be able to bond faster."

"Yes. I think so too. She's quite shy and introverted at first, but once you meet her, she'll loosen up."

Wait! Emma Davey? Isn't that the name of famous fantasy writer here in New Zealand? Could it be her? "She's a writer, right?"

He beamed, "Yes. You like to read?"

"I'm pretty much addicted to it. I've read one of her series before. House of Nightmares and Dreams. I loved the female protagonist because she was strong and a badass, exactly my type of female character," thankfully I was quick to catch on. This will make it more believable, despite the fact that I had no idea that she was married to him. "Freya Leah Byrne. She's definitely one of the best written female leads I've read in a fantasy series."

His smile was pure and proud, and that was enough for me to tell that he was an amazing husband. She probably has him wrapped around her finger. "Me too. I love her books. Before we started dating when I was 20 to 21, I was a big fan of her first duology."

"How did you met?" I leaned forward, actually interested. "Was it because of her books, or…?"

"Funny enough, it was when I was spending a weekend in one of your resorts, three years ago," what? "Charming Waters, in the North Island," which is coincidentally my most successful resort in the North Island here in New Zealand. In pair with the resort here in Queenstown, in the South Island. "She was also there to relax, and we met in the restaurant. I bought her a drink, we began talking, and when I realized who she was, I talked to her about books. Little after that we began dating, and after dating for about two years, we got married a year ago."

"I can't believe it was in my resort. What's the possibility?!" I gasped, still stunned. "It's really-" I abruptly stopped when my phone began to ring and sTraNgeRs by Bring Me the Horizon began to play. "It's my mom," I turned to Aaron pressing my lips and handed him the phone. "Video call."

He grinned and accept it, "Hi, mother-in-law," he said with that heart swooning smile of his that showed his dimples.

"Aaron, son, you are looking dazzling today as well. How are you doing? Is my filha taking good care of you? Where are you? Is she near?"

"Yes, mother-in-law. She's taking perfect care of me. You don't have to worry," then he winked.

I popped up on the side of the cam, "Hi, mamãe. Don't forget I'm your daughter here. We are out having lunch with Graham, one of his younger brothers. Are you okay? Did something happen?"

"Oh, is his little brother around? How old is he? Can I see him? Is he single?"

"He's 24, mamãe. Married. And yes," I held Aaron's hand and turned to him, and she gasped.

"Meu Deus, are all of you this handsome? Oh my. My heart just jumped. I'm Manu's mom, dear. It's good to meet you. Your wife if a lucky woman."

He blushed, "Thank you for the compliment, Mrs. Rossetti. You are also gorgeous, I can see where sister-in-law took her beauty from. And you look so young, as if you could he her older sister," what a sweet talker. "I'm Graham. It's nice to finally meet you, I'm looking forward to meet you and your family in person in the Holliday. And I'm the lucky one to be married to my wife."

"Aww, you are so adorable. So, what do you think of having my dear daughter as your sister-in-law? Is she good enough for your handsome brother?" God, what's is she saying?
