"Hey, Zeyu," Lixin greeted the moment the call connected. "What's up?"
"Nothing much, "I just finished up with class and thought I'd call you to see what you're up to," his cousin replied his voice a mix of feigned nonchalance and underlying excitement.
With his mouth momentarily occupied by a bite of food, Lixin managed to utter, "Just having lunch." Swiftly swallowing, he continued, "But I have a feeling that's not the purpose of your call."
