Rolf refused to give up. He fought on, determined to slay the dragon and win the heart of the princess. Finally, he managed to land a critical hit, plunging his sword deep into the dragon's heart.
As he pulled the sword out, he felt a strange sensation spreading through his body. The forest around him twisted and contorted, and he saw the darkness closing in around him.
"What have you done?" he cried. "What curse is this?"
The dragon's eyes flickered, and it let out a final breath. "You have been cursed by the forest," it said. "There is no cure. You are doomed to wander the land as a cursed dragon hunter forever."
Rolf felt a chill run down his spine. He had become the very thing he had hunted for so long, and there was no escape.
