Chi Lian's plane touched down in the capital in the evening and she was driven straight home by old tiger and spider who were waiting for her. When they saw her, their faces had turned prickly immediately.
"Let me guess," she told them in the car, "You are unhappy because once again I went somewhere and left you behind."
"You can't keep doing this boss." old tiger said, his hands were moving around unnecessarily as another way of additionally expressing his feelings. "You said that were are trusted men, spider and I are supposed to be by your side all the time. Why make us bodyguards if you never use us except to run errands? You should fire us if you are going to keep this up, we are becoming useless, look at my muscles, they are turning into mush."
