I knew that I was going to hell. There was no use lying to myself infact I've been preparing myself although I'm pretty sure that no normal human being would do that but let's face facts, I ain't normal.
Everything was dark and it was abit cold. Is this what dead people should feel. Cold? Anyways it's better than burning to death .
Is this the end though? Of me and my sad excuse of an existence on earth. This just can't be it. Those shadows knew something. Something about me that I didn't and so I can't just die like this

Voices.
I could hear voices though the sounded almost like a whisper. Does that mean that I didn't die.
Impossible. I couldn't have possibly survived that explosion.

I pried my eyes open and let out a deep sigh.

It took a minute to load and process my surroundings.
I was in a room that was completely white and some needles that were probably used to administer some medication were scattered around.
A fight must have occurred before I woke up

I do love some violence.
I continued to study my surroundings whilst looking for a way out. There were no windows and the only exit was being blocked by the 'kind' lady that was definitely not glaring and shooting daggers at me with her eyes.
"If you're thinking about running,forget it. There is no escape"she spat ,disgust lacing her voice.
My oh my,isn't she lovely.
"Well good morning to you too "I smiled angering her even more.
"I wonder why he decided to accept this demon"she whispered.
"Well aren't you a ball of sunshine"I mocked whilst stretching myself
My legs worked, I could move my arms,my eyesight was still functioning,I could smell the strong smell of antiseptic and I could breath well
I pinched my thigh and felt pain.
Good. I am indeed alive.
"I can't do this right now"
"Then don't. No one's forcing you"
"I can already foresee what a huge trouble maker you'll be"
"Don't worry,I'll do my best to fulfill your high expectations of me"

Fear
Good. I rather have her afraid of me. Maybe that way she'd change her fucking attitude.
She cleared her throat and tried to appear as if that statement didn't affect her but we both knew the reality.
I was dangerous and big threat. She seemed to have already known that so it wasn't a big deal reminding her on who she was dealing with.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Solace. I know that you might be confused right now but don't worry,I'll try to answer your questions as deemed fit"
A chuckle seemed to have escaped my lips.
I underestimated her fear. This will be fun
"Now your talking. For a start, where am I ?"
"On earth,that's for sure ,"
"How is that possible? I just burnt to death a few minutes ago"
"Actually it was a month ago. He could not allow you to die yet because you hadn't fulfilled your purpose "

"That's great. I need to get home as soon as possible. My momma is probably worried sick"

"You can't leave. Not unless you become an elite which is almost impossible right now because the next batch of them are being selected in a months time"
"An elite? What kind of sick place is this!"
"Welcome to the Light Academy. A school of hope ."she smiled
She must be enjoying this. Maybe I hadn't scared her enough
"I don't care about your stupid elite thing and your academy. I am leaving this place and I will go back to my mother's house and nobody is going to stop me!"
"Be my guest miss Solace. I wont stop you.
Let's just say after trying for what felt like hours,I still ended up back into that white room and Taby had this smug look on her face each and every single damn time I ended up back to where I started from.
"I'm trapped huh"I sighed
"I'm glad you finally understand"
"How do I leave this place?"
"Once you become an elite,you have the freedom to come and go as you please"
"How do I become one"
"It all depends on the strength of your gift,your commitment and dedication. But you have neither so chances are zero to none"

She broke a cold sweat.
"That's why we have the elites and a barrier that protects us from such things"she quickly said
"Oh how could I forget "
"You will be a student and classes will start from tomorrow "
"I didn't agree to this. I want to talk to my mom "

"I always have a choice. You can't force me to do anything against my will"
"Well,if you want to talk to you mother, better yet leave this place,then you have to abide by the rules "

"You're right. I can't but over here ,one thing that you will come to realize is that it's a life for a life,a tooth for a tooth."
"What is that supposed to mean"
"Wait and see Solace. Just you wait and see"
I sighed. There was no point in arguing. It would probably make things worse.
I will leave this place. That's one thing that I am sure of but first,I need to find out how I survived that car crash and fire with no injuries and how I got to this place.
Another thing that also bothered me was that I could no longer hear or see the shadows. Those pesky things are always around me saying something or hurting something.
I also felt ten times lighter,and clear headed. Thoughts of blood and death seemed to have stopped.
Something had changed and if it meant that I would have to attend some forsaken classes and act like a normal girl just to find out how then so be it.
