Chapter 33 - Be My Desciple

My mind raced with conflicting emotions. The offer to become the disciple of someone known as the Sword God was both enticing and unnerving.

I couldn't ignore the fact that this man possessed power and presence far beyond anything I had ever encountered.

"What would being your disciple include?" I inquired cautiously, my voice betraying a mixture of curiosity and uncertainty.

The Sword God's eyes flickered with a glint of approval as if he anticipated my question.

"As my disciple, you will undergo rigorous training to unlock your true potential," he explained. "I will guide you in honing your skills, refining your techniques, and expanding your understanding of the martial path."

He paused for a moment, allowing his words to sink in before continuing. "But make no mistake, the path of a disciple is not an easy one. You will face challenges that will test your resolve and push you to your limits. Yet, it is through these trials that you will grow stronger and evolve as a warrior."

A mix of determination and anticipation welled up within me. The prospect of embarking on this journey, of discovering the depths of my own potential under the protection of the Sword God, was undeniably bewitching. But I also recognized the gravity of the responsibility I was about to make.

"What do you seek to gain from me?" I asked, trying to gain a clearer understanding of his intentions.

The Sword God's gaze heightened, his eyes piercing into my very soul. "I seek a successor," he replied, his voice resonating with a deep sense of purpose.

"Someone who can inherit the legacy of my teachings and carry it forward. I see in you the potential to become a true master of the sword, a beacon of light in a universe shrouded in darkness."

His words stirred something within me—a spark of ambition and a desire to leave my mark upon the universe.

Without hesitation, I made my decision. "I accept," I declared, my voice firm and resolute. "I am ready to become your disciple, to walk the path of the Sword God."

A ghost of a smile crossed the SwordGod's lips, a glimmer of approval shining in his eyes. "Very well," he said, his voice filled with a mixture of satisfaction and expectation. "From this day forth, you shall be known as my disciple, and I shall impart upon you the knowledge and wisdom of the sword."

As his words echoed in my mind, I felt a surge of energy coursing through my veins. A newfound determination burned within me, driving me forward on this path of destiny and self-discovery.

And so, I would strive to surpass my own limitations, to wield the sword with unrivalled skill, and to become a true master of the martial arts.

I enthusiastically looked at him, waiting for him to guide me.

"Why do you want to wield the sword?" the SwordGod asked, his eyes fixed on me, waiting for my response.

I took a moment to gather my thoughts, reflecting on the reasons that had led me to this path. "I want to wield the sword to protect those dear to me," I replied earnestly. "To ensure their safety and create a world where they can live without fear."

As I spoke, memories of my past flashed before my eyes. The pain of losing loved ones, the sense of helplessness and anger that had fueled my determination to seek revenge against those who had wronged me and my family.

It was a desire born out of a deep-rooted need to shield the innocent from harm and secure their well-being.

The SwordGod's expression softened, a flicker of recognition crossing his face. "I understand," he said, his voice tinged with empathy. "For I, too, once sought the power of the sword to fulfill a similar purpose."

In that moment, a connection formed between us, an understanding of shared pain and the burning desire for protection. The SwordGod continued, his voice carrying a hint of reminiscence.

"I once walked a path driven by the need to avenge the ones I had lost. But as time went on, I realized that the true power of the sword lies in its ability to safeguard what is most precious."

He paused, his eyes distant as he delved into the depths of his own memories. "The sword is a tool that can bring both strength and vulnerability. It is a means to shield and defend, to ensure the safety of those we hold dear."

His words resonated deeply within me, revealing a new understanding of the path I had chosen.

I saw now that the sword was not merely an instrument of vengeance, but a means to safeguard and protect, to stand as a guardian of the innocent.

"I vow to wield the sword with the utmost responsibility and dedication," I declared, my voice filled with determination. "To shield and defend those who are important to me, and to utilize my power for their well-being and security."

A faint smile graced the SwordGod's lips, his eyes reflecting a mix of pride and hope. "I believe you have the potential to become a true protector, a master of the sword," he said, his voice filled with certainty.

"So what should I do?" I asked him enthusiastically.

"Now? You should go,"

"Huh?" I was dumbfounded by his reply and before I could even ask what he meant, I woke up.

I struggled to open my eyes as I felt the heaviness weighing me down. I felt all the energy inside me has drained out.

After some struggling, I managed to open my eyes. I saw myself in a familiar place it was the inn's room.

As I attempted to shift, a heavy weariness settled upon me, docking me to the bed. Confusion mingled with frustration as I realized that I couldn't move a muscle, no matter how hard I tried.

What had happened to me? Why was my body so unresponsive? It felt as if my energy had been drained, leaving me trapped in a state of helplessness.

Struggling against the weight that held me down, I mustered all the strength I could summon, but it was futile. Every muscle, every limb felt as though they were encased in lead, refusing to heed my desperate commands.

It was as if my very essence had been drained, leaving behind a hollow shell of exhaustion.

"How did I get her?" I muttered to in a low voice.

I felt a soft pressure on my hand, and as my vision cleared, I saw Lita sleeping peacefully by my side.

A surge of warmth flooded my heart as I took in her delicate features and the genuine concern etched on her face.

I couldn't help but smile at her presence, even though I felt a pang of guilt for causing her worry.

It seemed I had been unconscious for quite some time, and the thought of Lita anxiously watching over me tugged at my heart.

"Lita," I whispered, my voice barely above a hoarse whisper. "I'm sorry for making you go through all this."

Lita stirred, her eyes fluttering open as she let go of a yawn. When she saw me awake, her eyes widened with relief, and tears shimmered in their depths.

She sat up abruptly, her hands cupping my face as she gazed at me intently.

"Charles! You're finally awake. I've been so worried about you," she said, her voice a mixture of joy and concern.

I could not think of how I got here? But that was for later.

I reached up and placed my hand over hers, feeling her warmth against my skin. "I'm sorry, Lita. I didn't mean to cause you so much distress. I didn't want to burden you with my problems."

Her eyes welled up with tears, and she shook her head, her voice filled with a mixture of frustration and tenderness. "Charles, you don't have to face everything alone. We're in this together, remember? You're not just protecting me; I want to protect you too."

I was taken aback by her words, her unwavering support piercing through my heart. She was right—I had been so focused on becoming stronger, on shouldering the responsibility of safeguarding those I cared about, that I had forgotten the strength and comfort that could be found in relying on others.

A surge of gratitude washed over me, mingled with a renewed sense of determination. "You're right, Lita. I've been so caught up in my own goals that I forgot to lean on you, on all the people who care about me. From now on, I promise to share my burdens and face our challenges together."

A smile tugged at the corners of Lita's lips, and her eyes shimmered with affection. "That's all I ask, Charles. We're a team, and we'll support each other no matter what."

As I looked into Lita's eyes, I felt a deep sense of connection and strength. She had always been there for me, unwavering in her support and love.

And now, as we faced the uncertainties that lay ahead, I knew that we would overcome any obstacle together.

"I still have a long way to go," I admitted, my voice filled with determination. "But I won't forget why I'm doing this. I want to create a world where you and everyone else can live without fear, where our loved ones can be safe."

Lita nodded, her expression radiant with unwavering faith in me. "And I'll be right beside you, Charles. We'll face every trial, conquer every challenge, and protect each other. Together, we'll forge our destiny."

As our hands intertwined, I felt a surge of strength coursing through me. It wasn't just my resolve driving me forward; it was the unwavering support and love of the person who meant the world to me.

With Lita by my side, I knew I could overcome any obstacle and become the protector I aspired to be.

Together, we would face the trials that lay ahead, hand in hand, weaving our own destiny.

"Ahem! How did I get here?"

Howdy readers!

I have a question.

You may have noticed my writing has changed so I am asking is it better or if should I return to the old one?
