Chapter 30 - Resolute Redemption

"Hahaha..." He was laughing like a lunatic.

The pressure the hooligans were feeling increased by several folds.

The lackey felt an unbelievable urge to run but they couldn't. They were petrified.

Their minds were screaming at them to move but their bodies wouldn't move a single muscle.

'Why did the pressure increase by several folds from before? It feels so suffocating, I can barely keep myself up. Shit! I should have used 'that' from the start.' Jamol regretted underestimating Charles as a mere pushover.

Meanwhile, Charles's mind was getting crazy.

The only thing that he could hear or feel was killing.

"Kill, Kill, Kill..." he started muttering the word kill as his golden eyes slowly started turning crimson red.

He was feeling so much pain. It was as if he was undergoing an evolution.

His head felt like it would explode at any moment by the excruciating pain. His muscle tensed as he held his head but he could not stop his mad laughing.

Veins popped up all over his body and something sharp was growing on his head.

"Has he gone mad?" Skinny one managed to stabilize himself from the overbearing pressure Charles was excluding.

Meanwhile, Charles was covered by the madness. He locked eyes with Jamol, his bloodshot red gaze sending shivers down Jamol's spine. Sweat poured profusely from every pore on his trembling body.

"M-monster... H-he is a monster," Jamol muttered feeling the gaze of Charles. He could not help but tremble to see those bloodshot eyes. Sweat was dripping violently from head to toe.

The gazes were alone enough to make them pee their pants.

"B-boss, why are you sweating so mu-" The lackey's words trailed off as he noticed the source of the liquid.

"Boss, you peed your pants?"

"Look at yourself before saying anything! Look at your clothes, you peed yourself too! And my pants are not my fault. The bastard over there, I saw him pissing on the ground!"

"W-what?!" He looked at the fat one who was on the ground. He was shaking violently looking at Charles with fear in his eyes.

"Gulp," the man gulped hard accepting his fate of being killed by Charles.

"I will kill you, all of you, who looked down on me. I will make you disappear from existence," All this time Charles had been living with others talking behind his back.

They had been insulting him and making fun of him.

He was heartbroken. It was not as if he had done something bad to them so why? Why do they hate him?

All this time he was living with this emotion of anger, hate, grief, misery, and incompetence.

But on the surface, he appeared calm and acted rationally. But hearing people talk behind his back. He considered suicide many times. But it was too cowardly to die like this not at least before he takes his revenge.

What did he ask for? He just wanted to live a peaceful life with his lovely mother but they didn't like that and killed her.

Yes, no one believes in me. I should just kill them all. All mankind they are my enemy.

The pressure was just increasing making the hooligans kneel before Charles.

"Mister! Don't lose yourself! Please calm down," A sweet yet loud voice echoed from outside the building.

Haff-Huff

The older sister took a deep breath after screaming her lungs out.

.

.

Half an hour ago, she had been in tears, believing she had made a grave mistake by revealing her situation to Charles. She had resigned herself to the belief that he would surely die.

"I shouldn't have..." She stopped herself, realizing she had no time for regrets.

"I should stop him, he would not have gone far. If I hurry I might be able to catch up with him. Right?" She stood up and walked inside the dark alley. She was a little hesitant at first but mustered up her courage and walked ahead.

.

.

'Thank author, I arrived at the right time.' she thanked the author as she leaned at the door catching her breath.

Although it was just a few sentences. It had a wonder full effect on Charles.

The dark energy was still resisting but he had gained some of his consciousness back.

He recalled all his sweet memories with his mother, aunt, Lita, Victoria, and system (especially lucky draw)

"No, you can't fall for this, think of those people who looked down on you and makes fun of you. No one likes you" The madness was fighting with his consciousness.

"Give me your body and everything will be fine,"

"Yes, they never liked me. They were just playing with me."

"Charles, always remember even if I am not with you. You will have others like me who you can place your trust in. They will also believe in you and trust you.

So if you ever come to find a reason why you want to destroy everything. Always remember there will be people who love you, who have placed their trust in you." just as Charles was about to give in.

He recalled his mother's words and they were like magic and in a second the pressure that Charles was excluding was gone.

He remained still, his head lowered towards the ground.

Jamol didn't waste this opportunity and dashed toward the bed.

He took out an item from under the bed.

Meanwhile, Charles also regained himself. He took a deep breath and maintained himself. He gazed at Jamol with neither hate nor contempt.

His shining golden eyes were just focused on Jamol as the target.

Gasp-

And the next second he disappeared and appeared in front of Jamol. His sword held up high.

Although Jamol had noticed Charles. He didn't try to defend himself. He just put the item in front of Charles. His lips curled up making a devious smirk.

Swoosh-

Charles swung his sword downwards at Jamol.

Boom-

The sword was about to slash Jamol but a blue translucent barrier appeared, surrounding the smirking Jamol.

Bame-

Charles's sword which was supposed to cut Jamols body in half was thrown back with Charles across the other end of the room.

The impact was so strong. It destroyed the wall.

Cough-Cough

Charles coughed out blood as he rolled over on the ground.
