Chapter 16 - Nostrovia and Calamity

Rushing outside, the Wanderer, Mari, and the fake Jedi found themselves surrounded by the people of Kazingaka, all watching as two Sith stood in the center of it all with their lightsabers in hand.

Both wore black, one having sharper features with sickly, grey skin and long black hair that covered most of their face, though their orange Sith eyes could be seen piercing through their jet-black locks. Their jawline and muscles were more defined in comparison to the other, especially around their neck, shoulders, and chest.

This one's outfit was unlike anything the Wanderer had ever seen any Sith wear, which was a strange shirt that covered their pectoral muscles, showing their shoulders and midriff while also wearing a long black skirt with belt buckles all over it. On their feet, they wore black boots to match the rest of their dark clothes.

Their weapons of choice were four short, scarlet lightsabers that took the form of wrist blades, two on each arm, curving around their fist with a sharp, crimson edge.

Beside them, there was a warrior who looked nearly identical in the face to them, though they had more rounded features. Just like the other, they had sickly, colorless skin as well as that same, jet-black hair with Sith eyes glowing beneath their locks. This one had makeup around their eyes and lips, along with a gaze that was much more seductive.

However, this one wore a top hat on their head, along with a black, button-up vest of sorts with a white cravat around their neck. This one also wore a skirt, their legs exposed beneath it with black boots on their feet.

This one's weapons of choice were two lightsabers in the shape of sai, miniature daggers that have three blades on them.

"Salutations, Jedi. My name is Nostrovia, and this is my sibling, Calamity." The one with the two sai bowed, smiling darkly at the bogus Jedi, staring deep into his soul. Seeing that they were looking at the faker and not her, the Wanderer loosened her tense posture.

"Well, go ahead, Jedi." she told him, pushing him toward both Sith warriors.

"Quite the temple you have here." the one with wrist blades, Calamity, spoke, looking at the entire place while licking their lips. "You would all make great warriors for the Sith Empire."

Jin, the fake Jedi, said nothing, standing in place while shaking in his boots. One of the twins looked over at the Wanderer, looking at her earrings before quizzing her about her earrings. "You there, the one with the scar on her abdomen." Calamity said, referring to the lightsaber wound on the Wanderer's lower torso, one that was healed with Bacta, but still scarred nonetheless. "What is that on your ears?"

"They're kyber crystals. My master, Master Jin, gifted them to me. They're trophies from an enemy of his past." the Wanderer lied, holding back her smile. If Jin wanted to play Jedi, now was his chance, and she was ready to let it happen, or at least, see how far it would go before she needed to step in.

"Did he?" the one with the top hat, Nostrovia looked at the fake Jedi up and down, seeing the way that he was trembling. "Did he... really?" the added, seeing the piss stain on his pants from earlier.

"Well, Master Jin, why don't you show our friends how good you are at killing Sith?" the Wanderer jested, staring at Jin with her eye scrunched.

"Right." Jin put on a fake look of determination on his face before unhooking the lightsaber from his belt. His lightsaber then hissed and hummed upon being ignited, showing everyone his yellow blade.

With their weapons at their sides, the Sith stared at the fake warrior with unimpressed eyes, seeing through his facade with ease. Using the Force, Calamity pulled the lightsaber out of his hands and toward themself before slicing it in half.

Immediately, Jin fell to his knees and told the truth to everyone. "I'm sorry! I am a fake Jedi! No one here is a Jedi! It's all fake! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!" If he hadn't already pissed himself earlier, it would have been the perfect time to do so.

Everyone, the civilians, the SIth, Mari, and the Wanderer cringed at the display beneath them. The twins looked at each other and chuckled slightly before looking back down at the fake Jedi. They came all this way, hearing of a lone Jedi temple in hopes to claim it for themselves, creating their own army of Sith warriors for their own personal use. However, none of these people would serve any use to them...

As warriors at least.

"Servants will have to do for now then. Any objections?" Calamity asked the crowd, knowing none would step up to them. However, they'd be wrong.

"I object. Right here." the Wanderer stepped forward, standing in front of the fake Jedi with her hand on the hilt of her weapon. Jin's display was so embarrassing, the twins forgot about the kyber crystal-wearing warrior standing in the background. "I'm no Jedi, but I will not let you lay finger on anyone. Not even the faker, as much as I'd love seein' him cut down by you."

"So then it was you who killed Sith for those two kyber crystals dangling from your ears?" Nostrovia asked, curious as to which two Sith she managed to kill.

"And there's more where that came from." the Wanderer told them, reaching into her kimono before pulling out a small sack that was around the same size as her bag of credits. As for what was inside...

There were kyber crystals, dozens of them, more than anyone could count unless she poured them out of the bag. "I just collected two more from a lady named Xetha. You know her?"

Hearing Xetha's name being uttered prompted both twins to look on with wide eyes. 'Impossible.' Calamity thought. 'How could she have killed so many? Including Xetha?' Nostrovia questioned in their own mind.

As the two Sith stood in place, confused as to how this one-armed warrior could be so powerful, the Wanderer placed her collection of crystals back in her kimono. With a plasmatic hiss, her lightsaber was then unleashed from her scabbard, humming loudly in her lone hand as she held it in a reverse grip.

Pushing off the ground, the Wanderer stepped forward, immediately going for Calamity, the one with wrist blades. Having assessed them the entire time, she deduced that they were the weak one, coming at them with her full ferocity.

Barely able to match her speed, Calamity blocked her attack, holding their arms in a cross formation. Seeing their sibling being attacked, Nostrovia flipped their sai, holding them in a reverse grip before attacking the Wanderer with both blades, attempting to impale her while her hand was full with the other sibling.

The Wanderer's lone eye shifted, looking at Nostrovia with malicious intent. The Wanderer shifted her body, pivoting her feet to face Nostrovia. In what appeared to be a split second, the Wanderer deflected Nostrovia's attack, causing their arms to rise, leaving them open to being attacked.

However, the Wanderer's eyes shifted again, looking at the other sibling who was coming from behind, ready to slash the Wanderer in half with their wrist blades.

Seeing that the attack was aimed at her upper body, the Wanderer leaned backward, nearly bending at a ninety-degree angle as their blades went past her face, hitting Nostrovia in the chest, though only grazing them. With enlarged eyes, Calamity looked at their sibling before looking down at the Wanderer, who from her ninety-degree position, still managed to swing her lightsaber, cutting Calamity's arm clean off.

Calamity bellowed in anguish, stumbling backward as their arm hit the ground. "Calamity!" Nostrovia shouted before their eyebrows furrowed and their eyes narrowed. Their Sith eyes, signifying the anger building up inside themself, started to glow even brighter. Fueled by hate, Nostrovia stepped toward the Wanderer, who was back standing up straight, and began attacking her with a speedy barrage of attacks using their sai and legs.

The Wanderer dodged each kick and blocked each sai strike, which was perfectly timed, giving them not a single window to slice at Nostrovia's legs. With their wound cauterized from the Wanderer's saber, Calamity recovered and joined the fight once more, raising their lone wrist blade high above their head in an attempt to impale the Wanderer in the back of her skull.

Standing on one leg, the Wanderer blocked Calamity's attack with her lightsaber, not even doing so much as to bat an eye at them, meanwhile, her other leg was occupied kicking Nostrovia in the chest, sending them back a few feet.

Slowly, the Wanderer's lone eye turned toward Calamity, looking at them in the eye despite their hair covering most of their gaze. Like a starved fox, the Wanderer glared at Calamity before abusing the main weakness of their wrist blades. With a tight grip on the hilt of her lightsaber, the Wanderer scrapped downward toward Calamity's exposed hand, cutting it off before dropping low, and performing a sweep kick on them, knocking them onto their back.

As Calamity fell to the ground, Nostrovia could do nothing but watch as their sibling was then stabbed in the chest, dying in an instant. At this very moment, something within Nostrovia snapped. The only person they'd ever cared for had been snuffed out before their very eyes.

It took years for this feeling, one they'd given to thousands of others throughout the course of a decade, to finally catch up with them. Call it irony or just desserts, regardless, they were infuriated.

"I will fucking kill you!" Nostrovia shouted, their hands generating lighting all around them. Like a storming cloud, Nostrovia fired an unceasing barrage of blue electricity from their fingertips, still holding onto their sai in each hand. However, this attack would prove pointless as the Wanderer simply blocked their Force lightning with her lightsaber.

As the thunder boomed and Force lightning reflected off of the eyes of those spectating the bout, the two warriors stepped toward each other, the lighting becoming more concentrated with each step.

Seeing that Nostrovia was letting their anger consume them, the Wanderer knew that this battle would end fairly quickly.

When two Force users fought, it was common for them to unconsciously shield themselves from Force attacks, explaining why Force users seemed to only use their lightsabers against each other. However, when one loses focus, it is possible for that Force shield around their body to be bypassed.

Knowing this, the Wanderer placed the hilt of her lightsaber in her mouth, continuing to block the lightning before blue flames started to form in the palm of her hand, showcasing a technique she picked up when she too dabbled in the dark side of the Force.

Pushing her hand forward, the Wanderer sent a massive fireball toward Nostrovia, compelling their eyes to widen. 'Impossible!' they thought to themselves, witnessing an ability that was only mastered by the most powerful of Sith, yet this Jedi, or what they assumed to be one, was doing it with a single hand.

Using both hands, Nostrovia formed a Force shield in front of them, blocking the flames and causing them to fly over their head. As the flames began to fade, they realized that the Wanderer was no longer standing in front of them, it was as if she disappeared right before their eyes.

However, before they could begin searching, the Wanderer placed the hilt of her blade on the left side of Nostrovia's back. "Checkmate." the Wanderer whispered before igniting her blade, killing Nostrovia instantly by stabbing them through the heart.

In complete awe, the entire city of Kazingaka was looking at her with wide eyes as she placed her blade in her scabbard, the hiss of her blade resonating through the forest. As she does, the Wanderer collected the kyber crystals from the lightsabers of her fallen enemies, placing them in the bag inside her kimono before walking up to Mari as if nothing had just occurred. "Let's get outta here." she told her, though Mari was still completely stunned.

This was the first time she'd ever seen her fight up close. Where most people would find this sort of thing to be barbaric, horrifying even, Mari felt even more infatuated with the Wanderer. "That was... incredible." she whispered.

"Hm? These two were fodder. The Mandalorians that attacked us put up more of a fight than them." the Wanderer spoke casually as she walked over to the fake Jedi, who was still on the ground, holding his broken lightsaber. "If you don't want something like this happenin' again, I'd advise you to stop pretendin' to be a Jedi." she told him, grabbing the yellow kyber crystal from him and tapping him on the shoulder before walking away.

Mari was still stunned, watching the Wanderer walk away before she stopped, turned around, and signaled her to follow her with her one hand. Doing as she was told, Mari ran and caught up to the Wanderer and told her all about how amazing she thought she was after that fight until they reached their speeder and left the town, leaving a lasting impression that hopefully changed things.
