In the tent closest to the newly established barracks at the port of Kolhis, Adela sat around a table next to Arkin, Lidya, and the Beta of the shapeshifter tribe. There was also Ludwig, veiled from sight but always at her side, casting a dark aura that mirrored her current mood.
She cradled her son's cape in her lap, lost in thought.
"Your Excellency, as we continue to search for potential locations where the Prince might be held, have you considered any possibilities yourself?"
Lidya's question redirected Adela's focus to the conversation, but it also made her more aware of a throbbing pain in her head reaching all the way to her eyes.
"Must you always talk so much?" Arkin interjected with an edge in his voice.
Sarcasm swirled in Lidya's eyes, "Some might argue that engaging in conversation is the best way to relax in tense situations like this one."
"Relax? If that's your aim, perhaps you should brew her some tea while you're at it."
