Her nails lightly scraped against his shirt above his gloves as she spoke, her voice carrying a vulnerable timbre.
"I don't want to argue anymore. I'm tired of these endless battles of wills between us... All I want is for us to be happy."
He abruptly turned around, his eyes fiery rubies.
"Don't put the blame on me! I'm at my wit's end trying to overcome the obstacles between us. And what have you done in return? What have you offered besides flaunting your pride everywhere?" He sarcastically chuckled, "You're everywhere but by my side, never coming my way."
It was, without a doubt, the most ridiculous thing she had ever heard him say.
"I was in your house today, unchaperoned...I came to you every time you asked to see me..."
She suppressed her emotions, realizing that it had come to this. She needed to hear him confess, and he needed to hear himself say the words too. Otherwise, they would continue hurting each other.
