I look up at my father and try to see the man who destroyed Paris day after day, just so he could make a stupid, insignificant wish. But, instead, I just see the man who raised me and cared for our family. I am so caught up in my thoughts that I don't even realize that he is making the wish.
I try to look up at him, to try and stop him, but there is a bright flash of light, so I shield my face.
I wake up in my giant bed and get up to get dressed. Then I leave for the Great Hall.
"Hello, father," I say when I enter, "Hello, mother."
My mother smiles sweetly at me and answers, "Hello Adrien," My father nods at me, to show that he acknowledges me. "How has your day been today?" my mother asks. "It's been wonderful," I tell her.
"Adrien," my father interrupts us, and I look over at him. "You will be getting married." had just taken a drink of water, so when he said that, I choked. "Pardon?" I asked after I was finished with my coughing fit.
"You will be getting married." he said calmly. "You may choose whom it is and everything, however, you must choose a wife by some point in the next few months.
"How would I even choose?" I ask, "I don't even know anyone"
"I thought that we could have all of the names of girls that are eligible and we pick a certain amount of names at random. Then you can spend time with them and choose a wife."
"That's a wonderful idea," I say with a smile, when, in reality, I thought it was a terrible idea because I didn't think I could fall in love with any of them, especially with what little time I had to choose.
