"Hello, Islinda," Maxi greeted cheerfully, waving despite her predicament. "Nice of you to finally pay us a visit. Although I hate to break it to you, now is not a good time." She laughed.
"What in the Fae?" Islinda did not know when the words left her mouth, Staring at the scene, baffled. She whipped towards him, eyes wide and accusing, "Seriously?"
But either Aldric cared not one bit or he was the biggest actor she had ever seen. He did not flinch nor was there an atom of remorse on his expression. If anything he had a deep scowl, pissed that she had ruined his plans for the "two traitors" — as he liked to call them.
Shaking her head in disappointment, Islinda realized that it was not worth it picking a fights with him. She had to get to Maxi and Issac's rescue. And that she did. Except Islinda realized at the end she didn't have the means to release.
She turned to the dark Fae, no, winter prince now, with a glower. "Give me the keys, Aldric."
