It had taken Islinda a lot of courage to say those words, but Eli staring at her as if she had grown two heads made her frown and wonder if she had misunderstood the situation. Earlier, he looked at her with a blazing heat, as if he wanted to ravish her right on the spot. Now, he looked dumb.
"W–what?" Eli stuttered, unable to believe it. He must have heard wrongly, so he questioned, "What did you just say?"
