"What took you so long? I was beginning to think that you were having breakfast without me." Aldric said to her as soon as she came in with the tray of food.
"Sorry about that, I got carried away while in the kitchen getting our breakfast?" Islinda apologized, carrying the tray to the bed since it was the only spacious place to have a meal together. Her study table was small and did not fit the dark Fae prince, who seemed to have settled on that spot without saying it.
Islinda was conscious of Aldric's intense gaze on her as she lowered the tray onto the bed and in her haste to be done, nearly turned over a plate of hot soup. Aldric reached out with lightning speed, steadying the plate before it could pour, shifting his eyes to her.
"This is why I have servants for menial works like this. I didn't bring you here to be a slave, princess."
