I was cursing Kai while I sat on my bed. The party was still happening because I heard the faint echo of the music through the walls of my room. My secret admirer was right. Kai's chivalry was only an act. An act I should have known better than to fall for.
The door opened and I jumped, hope being ignited in me. Kai had probably realized Katana was not me and he had come to get me. However, I felt disappointed yet again when I realized who was at the door.
" You do not look too happy to see me, " Miriam said from the door.
I shook my head and forced a tight smile on my face. I looked anywhere but at her so that she wouldn't see the disappointment dancing in my eyes. I patted the spot beside me on the bed knowing she had something to tell me.
