Licheng brought Xiana to the Northern Palace, where they went to check the phoenix first and the plaque too. Xiana remembered the last time she looked at it, that time it was merely a stony figure.
As they both stepped foot into the hall, they found out the phoenix stony figure no longer existed there. The plaque had also disappeared. "See, the phoenix is freed," Licheng told Xiana, a wide smile gracing his lips.
Xiana was shocked to see that. Relief and astonishment engulfed her.
"I met the Fire Spirit before and he guided me. You always told me how foolish I was! I realized it finally. The past shall remain in the past. That life was different, and my current life is different," Licheng affirmed. He gently held Xiana's hands and took steps toward her. "Don't be upset with me anymore," he again urged.
