In the evening, Licheng decided to meet Chen Yulan. However, he found out that she was present in his house only. He asked the house servant whether Chen Yulan was with his mother.
"I am here, Licheng," Chen Yulan pronounced. Licheng turned his left and saw her in the corridor which led to his room. The servant left while Licheng went toward her.
"What does Miss Chen want to talk about with me?" Licheng inquired. He decided to listen to her matter first and later tell her the decision regarding the marriage.
"Can we go inside your room and talk there?" Chen Yulan asked.
"I feel this place is better," Licheng replied.
