"Because if the older disciples of the Holy Sects and Great Clans who have likely already entered the Spiritual Realm were to participate, they might completely suppress those disciples from the smaller Sects and Clans. If that were to happen those smaller Sects and Clans would obtain absolutely nothing inside the Shadow Dimension, so they've been joining together to protest. But even though they're weak, their numbers aren't to be underestimated, so the Holy Sects and Great Clans can only concede."
Upon hearing this, Yoon-jae figured this made sense, one could say this was the delayed backlash for the Martial Alliance Academy's decision to have both Mortal Realm and Spiritual Realm disciples participate together. And everyone knows the Academy is an extension of the Holy Sects and Great Clans. It was no surprise the smaller Sects and Clans' protests were aimed at them.
