Thousands of tribesmen willingly walked into the cold wind they had been desperately running from their whole lives. They and their horses were covered in heat suits.  The ones who had them used spirit stones in their suits. Others used basic energy-trapping formations to substitute for the recharging empty spirit stones.

During the daytime, they huddled in their igloos while their stones recharged. They moved only at night and dusk. Dawn was when the temperature was at its lowest. The tribesmen skipped moving at dawn to keep their stones from depleting quickly. They unfolded their tents in a hurry if a snowstorm hit.
