King Sharad was notified of the fact that one of the eastern lords was protesting and threatening the king with an uprising if he didn't rescind his twenty percent profit margin decree.

"Gauge his eyes out and cut off his head. After it's done, bring the head to me. I will confirm the kill."

His minister and old friend, Patanjali, was terrified by the new developments. 

"Your Majesty, why are you doing this?"

King Sharad gripped his throne's armrest and squinted his eyes.

"Do you know how one cleans a plot of land from its ticks Patanjali? You use fire."

Patanjali understood what was going on. The King had finally snapped. Patanjali sighed. This was bound to happen. The greedy bastards pushed and pushed. After finally pushing him over the edge, they shamelessly threw a hissy fit.

They deserved everything that was coming to them. The problem was that this wasn't the most politically stabilizing line of action.
