Chereads / Stardom: Echoes of Destiny / Chapter 9 - Alans' Plan Succeeds

Chapter 9 - Alans' Plan Succeeds

It was also being discussed on the management side.

"No! I said no. Don't you feel ashamed of even suggesting that?"

One of the directors said angrily. He was one of the few who did not care about Luna being their most popular star. Even if others were trying to please Luna, he was different. He is also aware of the fact that many directors are trying to make things difficult for newbies.

"Zayden, I know that you feel that debuting them together will not be impactful to their career. However, looking at our finances and situation, I feel that we should let them debut together. Many of us also agree with that."

Others who supported him nodded their heads.

"What if this fails? Can you take responsibility for this?"

Zayden asked. He wants them to change their minds. Even if they were Idol trainees, if they were to do badly, it would reflect on their company. He knew that if Irina and Cecilia's debut failed, they had to also take some responsibility especially when they were interfering with the plan that was already decided previously.

"Alright! I will take responsibility."

The director responded. While he had said this, he already thought about a plan that would make sure that the blame falls on Alan, who is the new manager of Irina and Cecilia. He could always tell others that their new manager was the one who came up with the idea and failed.

He also planned to make Irina and Cecilia exit the Idol world. He is one of the people that had a connection with Luna and wanted to make sure that her wish is fulfilled.

"If you say so, I will ask their manager whether he agrees with the decision."

Zayden said. He was still not willing to listen to them. He did say that he wanted to ask their manager which meant he was trying to get a reason to reject their ideas. He could also use the reason that their manager would not want that.

Even if the manager's words hardly affect their decision, Zayden will get a reason to reject those directors' nonsense ideas.

"Hello! Is it Irina and Cecilia's new manager? Yes, I am Director Zayden. I called you to talk about the change of schedule. You can disagree if you want. Yes, we are discussing...

He was sure that the manager would at least not agree if he did not come out as forceful. However, he was shocked by the answer that he received.

"I agree!"

Alan replied happily from the other side of the phone.

******

Alan received a call on Thursday from upper management about changing the schedule of Cecilia's debut to match Irina's debut.

He had been waiting for days just to listen to this word. He immediately agreed with the director's suggestion.

In the meeting room, Zayden was shocked by Alan's answer. He expected that the manager would protest but surprisingly he agreed.

Now he didn't even have support from their manager.

( You could only blame your new manager for having a bad relationship with Luna. )

Zayden thought. He wanted to help but with so many directors supporting the idea and furthermore, he thought that the new manager was also someone working for Luna, he didn't have much power to help them with everybody working against him.

Zayden then went and agreed to have the proposal much to the delight of many other directors in the meeting.

"It's done!"

Alan happily announced.

Progress was going much smoother than he expected. He thought that his plan might not work but with so many people against them, it seemed that it had worked to his advantage.

"Really?"

Irina asked, surprised.

She was not told anything by Alan and was just told to wait for the day when the company agreed to change their schedule for the debut. Irina was skeptical about it as she didn't think anyone would agree with his plan.

"Yes! You two can practice without worrying. The debut time would probably be August 23rd."

Alan said. Normally that was for Cecilia's debut but with his plan, Irina would also debut with her there.

"Nice!"

She didn't understand what Alan did but she still couldn't believe that the company had agreed to change the debut time at the last moment. Anyway, it was good that it worked out and she believes it will be successful as the songs provided by Alan were all good, especially the last song that they were going to perform.

Alan left them on their own and went to help with the preparation. With so many people going against Irina and Cecilia, he didn't trust others to do a good job. Therefore, everything had to be checked by him or he couldn't have peace of mind.

( Looks like I would be busy for a month! )

Too many jobs required my attention. And even if it didn't, I had to at least check so that it was up to standard. If not, I had to call back the worker and make them do that again. Because of that, I had several fights with those adults and sometimes I had to even fire them from the job.

Imagine a 16-year-old, firing men in their 30s. It was a good feeling, however, I quickly got used to it. It was because I had to constantly scold those employees and many of them were not even taking their work seriously because Irina and Cecilia were newbies. Moreover, their current employer was a kid.

It was a stressful period for me. However, I also grew along with the job and I think I kind of matured during this period.

Along with my new job, I also had to go to school. Previously, my usual activity would be to play football and go out with friends. However, with all the work pending, I had no time.

"Hey, Alan! What's up? You have been spending less time with us."

Orion called out. He is one of my close friends. He would usually invite me to go to karaoke or to play arcade games. However, these days I had been rejecting his invitation which might seem odd to him.

"Did you get a girlfriend or something? You also had stopped coming to football practice."

Holden, who is another of my friends, said. Not only was he my classmate but also one of the football players though he is not one of the starting players.

"Nothing like that. I had just been busy because of some things that I needed to take care of."

I replied. I can't say that I had taken the job as Idol Manager. I also thought that I would soon be able to go back to my previous life as soon as Irina and Cecilia were done with their debut.

"Come on, man! Just tell us!"

Orion said while grabbing my neck.

I quickly escaped from his grasp. He could have really suffocated me in his big arms if I didn't escape.

"I am really busy. I will treat you guys next time."

I said while running toward Dreamwave Entertainment. I could see their depressed faces which made me feel kind of bad. Well, I thought that I should take them to some expensive restaurant or something to make up for it.

"One, two, three … Repeat! Once more! … Yes, perfect!"

The dance instructor said.

As usual, I was looking at their training. While I could guide them with their singing, the dances were a different story. I could not really tell whether they were doing good or not but it seemed great even if I didn't have much idea about it.

I just felt happy that I had the chance to watch Cecilia dance. This is what I really wanted to do rather than all the other stuff that I had to deal with.

( She really is beautiful! )

However, those times were very short. I was always busy and because I was their manager, many people would come to talk to me about the preparation, including the design of the stage. With Advanced Manager skills, I could at least tell whether the stage design fits the image of Irina and Cecilia.

If I had designing skills, I might have been able to do more. But I had no more appreciation points to invest in that skill for now.

Same with promotion and marketing. As a manager with Advance Manager skills, I would be able to promote their debut as well as any other manager, perhaps even better than most. However, if I had marketing skills, I would have been able to achieve more.

But I didn't waste my time thinking about such things. With how popular Idols are, I expect at least 10,000 audiences for their debut. The location for their stage is also in the Starcity with a good stadium which can hold up to 20,000 people.

Although I don't have a good impression of Dreamwave Entertainment, I must say that in terms of resources, they were one of the best. Even for newbies' Idol debut, they could provide such a large stadium. Other companies usually hold their new Idol debut in small stadiums.

By today, I had to finish preparing the stage.

"Let's get this over with."
