My history teacher said we live in the present because of the things we did in the past. I didn't understand it until I experienced this.
That day, the sky was overcast. School finishes early. I decided to go to the city library. There are recent history books in there. I should be the first to read it.
After the school bell rang, I ran to the bus stop. For ten minutes I waited for the bus, but it didn't come. When I checked the bus departure schedule, suddenly the bus I was waiting for sped towards me. I didn't have time to dodge so I was hit and sent flying through the air.
After the bus knocked me off my feet, I was in a dark room. I did not last long there until I was thrown out. Then, here I am, in a place I've seen so many times in history books.
From behind the bushes, I heard a fight. I peeked and found a couple of fighting. They look weird in old clothes.
They were far enough away that I had no idea what were arguing.
After some time, they also did not stop. I sighed, then turned around. I just realized that my hands and knees are scratched.
"What happened?" I said softly.
A roar from the sky startled me. I gasped and accidentally nudged the line of spears near me. They fall one by one like dominoes.
Just as I was thinking about clearing it up, two people came over. They looked at me sharply and then dragged me along.
As you have read in the prologue, this is how I am now.
I have lied. This lie cannot be held accountable. However, I need to live even under the rule of that cruel man.
"Your future is ... your future ...."
I know the story of this person, but it feels weird to tell him in person. In addition, the past life was harsh. I know that from the movies. I have to buy time now.
I took a deep breath, then replied, "That princess will act sneaky."
"And?"
"She will do anything to fail you."
He didn't ask anymore. I wonder if he doesn't believe my words. Moreover, the atmosphere here is getting colder. I don't know if it's because it's getting late or because of him.
"Tell me more."
It worked, but I don't know what else to say. If I tell anything, I'm useless.
"I ... I'm sorry," I said sadly, "There are some things that should not be seen for now."
"Don't you dare lie."
His voice rose a note though the chill was still the same. I really can't piss him off. "I'm not lying. Besides, if all the futures are known, there's no point in living in the present," I explained.
"Fine. Take her to rest."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
The sound of distant footsteps made me look up. A tall figure walked away. The sun was shining on him and the wind was blowing along his steps.
"Geez."

I was taken to a small terrace. The two people who treated me roughly earlier gave me water and snacks. After that, they said goodbye.
I enjoyed the dish while looking around. The sky was clear in the afternoon, shady trees everywhere, and magnificent buildings, especially the temple there. This place is like a big city in the past.
I reached into my bag to find my smartphone. I turn it on and see it's five in the afternoon. Shit, no signal. Though I wanted to tell someone about this great place.
Finally, I photographed some objects and got selfies. If I come back later, I can show it to my friends.
"Psst. Hey."
I averted my eyes from the phone screen. I looked around, then found a woman hiding behind a statue. She looked at me while waving.
I approached her and gave her five steps away. "What is it?" I asked her.
"My lady wants to see you."
"Who is your lady?" I asked suspiciously.
"We don't have much time. Come with me soon," she said, then held out a gold bracelet.
For a moment, I was shocked. Then, I told her to wait while I got my bag. Next, I received the bracelet and followed her.
We walked towards the back of the building. From here I can see the location I was thrown from.
After a while, we stopped in a garden. A young woman stood with her back to me.
"My lady, here she is."
The woman turned around. Her clear eyes looked at me as if bewitching me. She had clear little eyes with flowing hair.
Her gaze fell to my hand. I think she chuckled. Her feet took a step closer. She took out a package and placed it in my hand.
"I want you to kill Bandung Bondowoso."
I looked at the little package, then at her. I feel familiar to see this woman. When and where did I see her?
I asked, "Have we met before?"
"I don't think so."
She seems familiar. She is like a woman who fights with Bandung Bondowoso. I remember now. If there was him, then it must be her, Roro Jonggrang. However, why did she ask me to kill Bandung Bondowoso? Shouldn't she ask to build 1000 temples?
"I don't understand why you're asking me."
"You are a close person to him. Also, you agreed from the start."
I saw the bracelet I brought. "I'll give this back," I said and held out the bracelet.
A small chuckle escaped her mouth. Her voice is light and beautiful. She smiled. "You're funny. Do this or I'll tell him you're a fraud," she threatened.
