Seth coughed up saliva as he hurriedly rose to his feet to evade Keith who was rapidly descending on him.
Boom!
Another explosion sounded as Keith landed on the spot where Seth had been a moment ago.
"Tsk. You got lucky." Keith clicked his tongue and launched at Seth once more without delay.
"I've always been lucky." With his sword imbued with mana and clenched firmly in his hand, Seth also charged forward to ward off his opponent's attacks.
Clang!
Keith attacked with a stab to the chest and Seth parried the attack with the side of his blade.
Pulling back his sword, Keith attacked with a slash from his right to his left and Seth moved his sword to stop him halfway.
Both sides were running low on mana and it was affecting Seth more obviously than Keith.
Even while the battle proceeded, Seth's mana continued to leak from his core crazily.
"It won't take long before I end you," Keith smirked and conjured several balls made from earth. They were the same spell so controlling them was way easier than controlling two different spells simultaneously.
"You won't last that long," Seth replied, fending off another of Keith's incoming earthen balls covered with spikes.
'Finding his weak element is taking more time than I expected.' A part of Seth was complaining even though he looked composed on the outside.
Keith was weak to a certain type of elemental spell—lightning spells which he had no way of countering except trying to get rid of them from his body—and if Seth had watched Keith's battle with Raiden, he would've found Keith's weakness.
Nothing could be done about that and so, Seth would have to find out the weakness himself or fail and get killed. There weren't many options and Seth couldn't afford to pick the second.
It was a race against time and also a battle against whatever was greedily absorbing his mana deep within the cave.
He could feel it. They were getting closer to the source of his weakening and he could feel something else. Something familiar yet unfamiliar.
'We'll get to the root of that.' Seth ignored the feeling and focused on the battle in front of him.
If he couldn't get past Keith, then whatever he was feeling would remain a mystery after his death.
"I can feel it. You've gotten weaker again." Keith chuckled and sent larger spiked earthen balls after Seth.
Boom!
Seth evaded those he could which resulted in explosions while those he couldn't evade, he simply destroyed.
The feeling didn't go away despite Seth's efforts to get over it. Instead, its increased intensity forced Seth to seek the source while fighting Keith. He still couldn't find Keith's weakness and since the source of this odd feeling wasn't far away, he planned to use Keith in ways that would annoy him.
Seth could feel a few barriers between himself and whatever was calling unto him while still robbing from him and what else could be a barrier in here except for walls.
"Hey! If you keep throwing rocks like that, you might die of mana exhaustion before you even get to see me exhausted." Seth yelled at his opponent who was already furious after he saw Seth dodging most of the attacks he threw at him.
'He's definitely up to something. I need to keep calm.' Keith tried to advise himself to keep calm and it worked despite Seth's words that continued to pour out of his mouth until…
"Aren't you ashamed you've spent over thirty minutes trying to kill someone young enough to be your last child?" Seth asked and the last bit of rationality held by Keith disintegrated.
"Die!" He yelled furiously as he conjured spiked ball after spiked ball, sending them all toward Seth who smiled and charged at them as if he planned to personally destroy them.
"Rahhhh!" Even going as far as chanting while charging into the attack, Seth had his opponent fooled for a second.
Seeing Seth's course of action toward the balls flying at him, Keith grinned. 'They should wear him down if he plans on destroying even half of them.'
"Hmm?" A questioning sound escaped Keith's mouth when he first saw Seth bend abnormally. Then he saw Seth 'stumble' on a rock, falling just before the flying spikes arrived to wear him down and possibly end his career.
Through an 'accident', Seth dodged the balls and Keith's mouth was left open, his spiked balls still flying toward the walls that blocked Seth's advancement.
"My apologies, and thank you," Seth said as he rose to his feet, dusting the dirt off his already dirty body.
Boom!
As if to bring Keith to a realization, the first spiked ball collided with the wall, creating a giant crack.
Only now did Keith understand. Seth's goal was the wall behind him and Keith had successfully helped him break through. He tried terminating his spell but it was too late.
Boom! Boom!! Boom!!!
Explosions rang through the tunnel as the balls made contact with the wall making cracks and eventually making the wall crumble, revealing another wall even thicker which more of Keith's balls went ahead to hit.
By the time the barrage of spiked balls had ended, the second wall was covered in cracks.
Both of them stared through the large hole in the first wall as they glared at the second wall which was almost in pieces.
The new open space led to an even more bizarre situation. Seth became motionless as his mana flooded out from him. He couldn't even control it as every single bit of it floated into the cracks on the second wall.
Stunned by the new event, Seth opened his mouth to speak. "What the…"
Pow!
Before Seth could think of a solution, he was met with the blunt part of a sword.
Like a baseball met by a bat, Seth shot into the distance, blood spewing out of his mouth as his body headed toward the wall covered in cracks.
"Thank you my ass! Well now, you're welcome." Keith spat on the floor as he watched Seth crash into the cracked wall.
Bang!
It crumbled and Seth fell in. Through the hole Seth made, Keith could see a humongous figure that instilled fear in him.
Woooong~
He hadn't seen what was behind the wall but the pressure it released was terrifying enough to make him want to run away.
His only reason for remaining behind was to see to it that Seth remained dead for good.
He steeled his mind and started walking forward toward the hole and then he entered.
Not too far away was the motionless body of Seth still getting his mana drained from his core and the cause of the drainage stood not far from his body.
A sword stabbed into the ground giving off dangerous vibes and bloodlust like it was a living creature.
No! Not even living creatures gave off such dangerous energy.
Then Keith's eyes moved to land on the humongous-looking figure that occupied almost half the space.
Although it was a corpse with only bones, Keith could tell…
This was a dragon!
