Woooong~
Seth's mana poured out in droves as they went ahead to make the unconscious Taro's breathing stable.
While Seth performed an operation that would only come from a Class Four and above mage, Keith stood in the same position, dumbfounded.
After understanding what was happening, Keith opened his mouth to speak with a grin on his face. "So, you were hiding your capabilities?" That's not too good, is it?"
Seth ignored and kept focused on Taro as all his attention was taken by this friend of his.
Keith saw this and grew angry, the grin on his face vanishing like it was never there. "Hey, what the hell! I'm talking to you."
A red hot ball left his position and shot toward Seth.
Boom!
It exploded but Seth had cast his spell to block the explosion. He was done with Taro's first aid as his treatment had ensured Taro's survival.
Another ball arrived in front of the unsuspecting Seth but before it could explode, another force pushed it away.
Boom!
"I'm guessing you're the cause of the whole ruckus." A familiar voice spoke out.
"And yes what if I am?" Keith asked this new individual, unfazed by his every action.
"Then I'd suggest we let this end. You've done more than enough and I can guarantee you, you won't leave here alive if you decide to proceed any further." Raiden said, walking towards his student and his student's friend.
"Ha… haha… hahaha…" Hearing Raiden's threat, Keith burst into a series of laughter.
"How's he?" Raiden whispered to Seth, asking about Taro.
"He suffered serious injuries but I've done the best I could. He should be fine after a better healing session takes place." Seth replied, his eyes still glued to the attacker.
"Although I have to warn you, he's stronger than you."
Seth finished his words and before Raiden could process it, Keith spoke out, his laughter coming to an end.
"Me? You dare threaten me with a Class lower than mine?"
Boom! Woosh~
Keith's man exploded outward with a gush of wind so powerful that it sent the surrounding trees waving left and right.
"What the hell!?" Raiden was taken aback by his words. He had just threatened to kill this man without a thorough investigation of his power level and now, he was seeing it firsthand.
"I was just warning you." Seth voiced loudly, his voice threatening to be covered by the gush of wind as even his body shook under the pressure.
With a steeled resolve, Raiden said through gritted teeth. "Take Taro and get out of here. Don't you dare look back."
"What!? That's bull…"
"You heard me! This is an order from a teacher to a student! Take Taro out of here this instant as I can only buy you a fixed amount of time to get away." Raiden yelled at Seth, interrupting his sentence midway.
"Tch!" Seth clicked his tongue and went ahead to carry Taro who remained motionless on the ground.
He placed Taro on his shoulder and turned to give Raiden one last look. "You better not die here. Even if you do, I'm coming down to hell to pull you back."
Seth sprinted away after his sentence.
'Of course, I don't want to die, but what do I do against him?' Raiden asked inwardly, his eyes landing on the body of his opponent.
"Who said you could leave?" Keith asked, his question directed at Seth who was already a few meters away.
"I did." Raiden replied, pulling out his sword from the scabbard strapped to his waist.
'I don't know how you end up with such high-ranking assassins but congratulations Seth, you're getting me killed so quickly.' Raiden gripped his weapon so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
"I have the highest authority currently and since I haven't permitted your leave, I'll have to punish you." Keith raised his hand into the air.
"Flames of Greed." He spoke out and three bright orbs that were completely red formed just above his hand.
This spell was a Class Six spell with a wide range of destruction. Once they landed on their targets, they would envelop and consume them, spreading even wider to consume more before eventually dying.
"This should do." The balls of fire shot toward Seth in different directions looking to devour him and everything around him.
Raiden wouldn't allow such a thing to happen before his eyes so he chased down the first one.
Imbuing water-attributed mana into his blade, Raiden went on to attack the first ball that was shooting speedily toward his student.
Slash.
His sword came down on the ball of fire and a second later, everything exploded into a display of blazing red steam.
Raiden conjured more water mana as he also cast a spell. Balls of water exploded around the area, cooling the area drastically.
Without wasting time, he headed toward the next one to perform the same action.
"Impressive." Keith smiled at Raiden's action. He didn't think any lower classed magic user would be brave enough to counter a spell of a higher class with this much bravery. He performed his act so accurately that it worked effectively against a higher classed spell.
Raiden slashed down the third ball of flame as Seth's figure along with Taro disappeared into the forest for good.
"Now that they're gone, let's have this between us both." Raiden faced the enemy of his student.
"I see a sword with you. That makes you a magic swordsman. Pull it out." Raiden requested, his request coming out as an order.
Magic swordsmen had a higher ratio compared to pure mages. Why?
Most people had average or lower-than-average mana output and even talent in magic. So how did they go against those who were more versed in magic?
Through the use of weapons. Imbuing weapons with mana, they went toe to toe with people with more talents than them.
Seeing this worked effectively, many people switched to fighting with weapons as well. Even those who were well versed in magic made it a necessity to have some skills in the way of weapons.
Although there were a variety of weapons, the sword was the most common and easiest to use so many went with it.
That's how magic swordsmen came to be. It was a general term given to anyone who used weapons along with their magic abilities.
"Fine." Keith breathed deeply as he pulled out the sword from the sheath on his waist.
"Let's do this as swordsmen." Keith swung his sword, shooting out an arc of mana.
Both sides raced toward the other, the beginning of a battle between two people of different Classes.
