CHAPTER 5
"Hey Aurora!" She said as she picked up the call.
"Hey Sam, I wanted to ask you a favor." I said straight away getting to the point.
"What is it you sound anxious?" She spoke.
"I am which is why I need you to keep Aiden busy." I replied.
"Is he the one to pick you up today?" She asked.
"Yes!" I replied and let out a sigh.
"What happened?" She asked and I let out another sigh, before starting to explain.
"So that is my situation at the moment." I said.
"Damn your life seems to be like from the movie where you both end up falling in love in the end." She said and I could tell that she was enjoying this.
"I don't think that is what destiny has installed for me, given that when he gets bored he'll leave." I said.
"OK I'll try but you know your brother." She said and hung up the phone.
"I'll give Jordan a call." I said to Alex.
"You do that better she hears it from you remember last time." She said and we both had a flashback.
"Hey Jordan." I said and put the phone on speaker.
"Hey babes!" She replied.
"Babes why are you whispering?" I asked her.
"Well, your brother decided to watch me like a hawk and Alex texted me saying that you have huge news to tell me, so I don't want your brother us." She replied.
"That is quick thinking cause the news that I have is huge indeed." I said.
"Huge! That means it is spicy right?" She asked enthusiastically.
"Yeah, it is huge that Alex and I decided to tell you during our working hours. Are you in a spot where he can't hear you." I asked cause the more I delay this news the more likely she is to kill me when she finds out.
"Yeah! Come on hurry and tell." She said.
"Well, I guess I have to shock you with the fact that I slept with my boss that Friday we went to club!" I said in one go.
"WHAT?"
"Yes, and now I am in trouble."
"What do you mean by that?"
"He said I was the first woman to who gave him pleasure the way that he wanted to be pleased, now he won't leave me alone."
"So, you mean to tell me that you are now in a relationship with your boss, right?"
"I wouldn't call it a relationship. He said he wants to sleep together until he gets bored."
"So like friends with benefits?"
"I guess you could put it that way and he said I should wait for him after work."
"Wow you go girl, you slept with the hottest, richest, and cold-hearted billionaire bachelor, how lucky of you."
"Which is it when I have to deal with Aiden?"
"Did you say Aiden?"
"Yeah because of that club incident Aiden is bent on dropping and picking me up from my work."
"DAMN!"
"Tell me about it."
"You know your brothers have always been like that. Alessandro won't let me out of his sight, and it is worse that I work in your family company."
"Now you know why I refused to work there, imagine seeing them every single day."
"You still meet with them every single day regardless."
"Not really I always used the excuse that I am working late."
"And how has that been working out lately?"
"You know since that Friday I feel like it has been a misfortune."
"Of course, it has been a misfortune for the both of us, you know even if it is a call from you, your brother wants it on loudspeaker. He said that he doesn't know what we will be planning in doing next, hence why I am in the toilet right now."
"Isn't he gonna be even more suspicious that you are taking your time." Alex asked.
"Anyway, good luck course you sure are gonna need it, I have to go he is calling me. I wonder why we had to have the same off day."
"Who used to that it was sweet?"
"You don't have to say the 'I told you so' to me right now." I laughed at her whining.
"Ok I won't say that bye."
"Bye" Mwah.
"I think I should go too." Alex said and stood up to go.
"Mmh!" I nodded.
After Alex went back to her work, I decided to forget everything else that was not in my control and busied myself with work. I will let fate do its work and I could do mine.
*Knock knock*
"Come in."
"It's lunchtime Miss Marino." I heard my secretary say after she came in.
"Okay did you eat yet?"
"No Miss I was waiting for you." She replied no matter how much I told her to call me by name she still refused, so I gave up a while.
"Do you want to eat together?" I asked even though I know she would refuse.
"No Miss you can go ahead I know you are gonna eat with Miss Alex so I wouldn't want to intrude."
"Farrah some people would say that I treat you bad."
"No Miss, you treat me the best I just don't want to be a bother."
"Ok I won't force you; you can go eat as well."
She nodded and went out.
THIRD POV...
Aurora walked and met with Alex in the hallway. Alex pressed the lift to come to their floor, but when the lift opened revealing Leonardo, she almost fell due to shock, Aurora was quick to grab her. She was the one in trouble but why was Alex the one more nervous than her.
"Should we take another one." She whispered.
"Why should we?" Aurora said and pushed Alex in and went in after her.
"How come you are so calm about it." Alex asked.
"Do you want me to panic?" Aurora replied.
"If you two are done whispering, can you press which floor you want to go to?" Leonardo said which made them jump and Aurora turned around to look at him, he stared back at her which made her turn her head back and pressed the ground floor.
Although she tried to stay strong the look that he gave her made her so nervous that she grabbed Alex's arm for support. 'What the hell?' She thought and was more than happy when she heard the lift open, she grabbed Alex and walked fast out of the lift.
"Whoa slow down, I thought you were calm."
"I thought I was calm but that look he gave almost made my knees weak."
"Damn you got it bad princess."
"Don't call me princess, you are just reminding me of my brothers' problem."
"Who asked you to be a girl born after four brothers?"
"You and I both. You know my mom closed her womb after she I was born, apparently I was the girl she was waiting."
"So, she wanted a girl that bad."
"Yeah, she used to curse my dad every time she went to find the gender hoping it is a girl, only to be disappointed when she heard it was a boy."
"Your mom is fun."
"Yeah that's why my dad spoils me, he said I saved him from a divorce."
"Divorce?" She asked looking puzzled.
"Yeah, at that time my mom threatened him that is the fifth one was not a girl then she would divorce and find herself a new husband to give her a girl."
Alex busted out laughing and unlocked her car, after they entered the car Leonardo looked at them from a distance before he entered his car and his assistant drove the car away.
"What do you think of Aurora Marino?" He asked his assistant.
"Miss Marino?"
"Yeah!"
"I think she is good why?"
"I want her!"
"WHAT?" He said and pressed the brakes.
"What? Why did you stop?"
"I was just shocked."
"Why would you be shocked?" He asked curiously.
"She doesn't seem to be your type." Max replied.
"You know she said the same thing."
"Is it because of that night."
"What else? You know that none of the other girls excited me as much as she does."
"Was it that good?"
"Hell, yeah I want her, and she won't be able to escape from me."
"I feel sorry for her already."
"Hey, didn't you see how hard she tries to ignore me."
"Yeah, I almost laughed when she almost ran out of the lift."
"Max sometimes I feel you talk too much."
"Really but you're the one that started the conversation."
"Who is the boss between us?"
"You but I am also your best friend."
"You sure want to say that in front of Paxton?"
"No thank you. Someone would thing that you're both gay with the way you two are towards each other."
Leonardo laughed and his thoughts once again drifted to a certain someone. Although he cannot be considered a playboy, he had slept with a number of women in search of the one that could match with him behind closed doors. No one ever managed to satisfy him, at the time he had already given up and Aurora stumbled in, so it was his mission now to make her his whether she liked it or not.
Alex and Aurora walked into the restaurant and sat down at their usual table, Aurora's phone rand. She opened her bag and took out her phone to see Sam calling back.
"Hey Sam."
"Hey...I wanted you to be prepared."
"He said no right?"
"Not straight away I told him that the both of us hadn't had dinner in a long time and he said he will pick you up first and then we can go for dinner."
"I am really sorry Sam I know that I am stealing your husband."
"Don't worry about it. I knew it was gonna be like this since the first date when you came with us."
"I can't help but feel guilty."
"Like I said it is no bother besides I think it's best that he is like that with you than me. I am enjoying my freedom." Sam replied and laughed.
At first it did bother Sam that Aiden never put her first, but soon she learned that she came second, and Aurora was the only girl in the family so it was a fact that the brothers would be overprotective of her. She was finally ready to get rid of the jealousy she once had and besides she saw Aurora as her little sister and couldn't help but join the brothers too.
"Yeah, laugh at me." Aurora said.
"I really wish you luck." Sam said and laughed.
After they said their goodbyes, Sam hanged and thought of the situation was in right now, she remembered at the time Aurora had her first boyfriend how her brothers were so unhappy about it, then the time when her mother set her up on the blind date and she and the guy hit it off and started dating a week later. All four brothers were pissed to the point that they ignored their mother for a whole month after the guy turned to be a psycho. so, they made sure to remind her how bad her choice is in men for their princess.
Aurora sighed and looked at Alex.
"Why didn't you people take me home?"
"We looked for you and you sent saying that you are going first."
She banged her head on the table at her misery, she had to lie in the bed that she made. It was not like she hated him, it was just that she was afraid of getting hurt and then there was her brothers who would kill her when they find out.
