Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Lisandra

Lisandra, Slu, Edelmer and Daervartalanjir were near the Dyerderar River, which flowed from the mountains of the Belt of Twilight.

"You can fly now, and look for Laylith and Kundaminokh, and I'll go to the mountains alone," Lisandra said.

"But, marthedraar," the voice of Daervar thundered, "the dragons sleep to the west of here, wouldn't it be better for me to carry you?"

"No."

"Lisandra, stay here by the river, we'll return with Laylith and Kundaminokh and all fly together to the mountains," Edelmer suggested. "You are too weak to do it alone."

"Fly, I'll take care of myself, don't worry about me... Edelmer," Lisandra no longer wanted to call him brother, because he wasn't a dragon. She looked at her son, "Take them Daervar wherever they want, be with them, do your mother's request."

"Yes, marthedraar, I will do everything," he said and bowed.

And the dragon with Edelmer and Slu flew east, parallel to the mountains, towards the Daranfullash ocean.

Lisandra walked to the river and looked at her reflection in the clear water. Snow was visible only on the slopes of the mountains, but here it was quite warm by the river, although the water was cold. She took off her old dress, which looked like armor and dress at the same time, and stepped naked into the river. And Lisandra sang a song,

"When my glorious son wakes up,

He will burst into fiery flames,

He'll be flying and circling alone

For several nights and days.

He'll wake up his brother. The time

Of the mountains will always be

Like a frozen tear of crime.

He forgot he has used to be.

Mother, brother will fly to him.

The second son will reject their love.

And a fury battle begins.

Only stars will be shine above.

The first son will spew fire stream.

Fire made its way to the star.

An askaldenfirst starts to sing.

Wind will hear a song from afar.

And the cruel wind whirls will freeze,

Storms will leave the Outland sea.

And her voice will fill lonely trees

With pain that no one can see.

And the wind will fade, and the leaf

Will freeze, but the rain will fall.

When a brother kills a brother, relief

Will be gone as a song after all."

Lisandra lay in the water for a while, she did not feel the cold.

"It's time," she said to herself, stepping out of the water, and casting a fire spell that created a circle at a distance from her, warming and drying her body. She put on her old dress and decided to take off.

Lisandra flew over the mountains, keeping to the west, looking out for caves or places where dragons or her sisters could sleep. Finally, she saw several dragons, and among them were her children, Erafner and Stellar Talanjir, they were sleeping. Erafnertalanjir is an ice white dragon with turquoise spots on his scales, and Stellar is a light purple dragon with some white on his scales. And Lisandra recognized the sons of her sisters, Lanmeitstarlinost is a green-yellow dragon, his brother Equairstarlinost is a white-green dragon with dark green edges on his scales, Dukeiltaavagan is a silvery dragon with lilac stripes. And two of the Simonish clan, Darlatsimonish is a yellow dragon with brown stripes, and Esvetsimonish is an orange dragon with white stripes.

Lisandra fly up to her children and gently stroked Erafner's nostril.

"Erafner, wake up," then she walked over to Stellar and did the same.

Erafner and Stellar opened their eyes.

"Martedraar!" Erafner shouted and took off. Stellar looked at her and bowed, but just sat down on the icy surface of the mountain.

"Don't you want to spread your wings after your sleep, Stellar?" Lisandra asked.

"No, mother, I don't want to."

She raised an eyebrow and then walked over to the other dragons and touched each one.

Darlatsimonish woke up and suddenly spewed out a huge column of fire, almost hitting Erafner.

"Careful, brother," Erafner's voice boomed calmly.

"Forgive me, brother," Darlat shouted, "I had a bad dream," and he turned to askaldenfirst, "Dinadam, and where all the other mothers are?"

"This is what we have to find out, my sister's son," Lisandra replied.

"My children!" she said to all dragons, "Listen to what I tell you. And what I tell you will surprise you and may shock you! A great battle lies ahead of us with the most powerful of your brothers, your miralfaran. Gaal!"

"What?!" Lanmeit suddenly asked, blinking his dragon eyes rapidly. "Battle with Gaal, dinadam? Why, what for? What do you mean?"

"Look at the sky through the clouds at the light, what do you see?" Lisandra asked.

"Iglara is gone!" Dukeil exclaimed, he was about to join some of the dragons that flew, but he was still sitting, like Stellar.

"Has he fulfilled the prophecy?" the flying Erafner wondered.

"Partly, my son," Lisandra replied. "Yes, he destroyed Iglara. And he returned reborn! But he began to incinerate Ermir and burned several of your brothers! Or even more! We can't get everyone together to count the losses, but we need to do it! We need to wake up all the dragons and all mothers to fight Gaal!" suddenly the mother's voice weakened.

"Are you all right, mother?" Stellar asked.

"I don't know, son, my powers seem to be fading, which is why we need all dragons and all mothers."

The dragons were so concentrated on a flight and dialogue that they didn't notice when someone flew up to them.

"Don't listen to her, she is falsalvgudina!" said Eldheidfilstrama.

Everyone turned on her.

"Marthebranfirst!" Dukeil shouted and all dragons bowed to the supreme mother, the mother of Gaal.

"Sister, don't you recognize me?" Lisandra asked. "Can't you feel me, my pain, my children?"

"I see a false mother before me, I have already killed three of your sisters, but you took the lives of six of mine!

"Six!" Lisandra was horrified! "I felt their death recently, maybe that's why I became even weaker. Whom did they kill?"

"You know their names, you were there, abomination! A creature that has no right to live!" and Eldheida began to cast a spell.

Erafner landed right in front of his mother, opposite Gaal's mother, and blasted fire at her. This knocked her spell off without causing any other harm.

"My sister's son, what are you doing?" asked Eldheida, "She's not your mother, she is not Lisandersterna Forbrandermedlis!"

"I can feel her, I know that she is my marthedraar! She is my mother!" Erafner shouted.

Lisandra flew to him.

"Son, Eldheidfilstrama will kill you if you stand between her and her victim," then she turned to Gaal's mother, "Eldheida, what will be your pain when you find out that you killed your sister? There will be one more dead mother! Do you want to destroy our entire family? Tell me if there is a way for me to prove that I am Lisandra? I hope you have not become mad, like your son!"

"Lisandra would never have offered to kill Gaal!"

Many dragons expressed surprise and horror, they could not decide which side to take.

"He burned many of our children!" Lisandra shouted.

"Disgusting lie!" and Eldheida took off, heading towards Lisandra.

Eldheida and Lisandra cast a protective spell, and a translucent sphere formed around them.

"Sons, fly away from here, you all fly away!" Lisandra shouted.

"Skiv Moor Sem Ren Dak Blut," Gaal's mother cast the spell of the First and the askaldenfirsts, creating two giant swords in the air, which began to try to cut the protective sphere of Lisandra. "The children of my sisters," she said to the dragons, "falsalvgudina is right, fly away from here, I don't want to hurt you, but while you're around, I can't fight at my full strength!"

Almost all dragons flew north, leaving only Erafner and Stellartalanjir, and Darlatsimonish.

Erafner released flames towards Gaal's mother.

"Brother, stop it, don't even dare," Stellar shouted and flew at him.

"No!" Lisandra shouted as the swords tried to pierce her protective sphere, she cast the ice whip spell and the whip began to hit the protective sphere of Gaal's mother.

A dozen fiery red-hot daggers rushed towards Lisandra's sphere and they all bounced off it. Eldheida used not very powerful spells because she was afraid to harm the dragons.

Darlatsimonish flew towards the fighting Erafner and Stellar. Lisandra could not stand it and fly to her sons. Gaal's mother followed her.

"Stop it! Immediately!"Lisandra shouted, "Tas Dah Sam Akr Vos Kawah!" she uttered a call for a peace spell, which affected many creatures, but rarely worked on dragons. And then her protective sphere disappeared, she lost consciousness and fell straight to the snowy peak of the mountain.

The brothers stopped fighting and flew to their mother, and Gaal's mother and Darlat flew after them.

"Marthedraar!" Erafner shouted, "Get up!" He tried to turn her with his nose. Then he saw Gaal's mother, and again spewed flames at her, and again she did not suffer. And Erafner flew up because he almost fell off the narrow peak of the mountain.

"I must kill the false mother, my sister's son! When you meet the real Lisandra, you will thank me. This creature is pretending! Don't you understand?!" and Gaal's mother grabbed Lisandra by the neck, lifted her slightly and began to choke, Eldheida's hands turned into molten metal.

Suddenly Lisandra's hair became orange-red at the roots and light yellow at the tips, she regained consciousness and her eyes lit up red, she stretched out her hands and began to choke Gaal's mother as well. Surprise and horror reflected suddenly on Eldheida's face. Lisandra's hands turned into molten metal as Gaal's mother hands.

"I am Lisandersterna Forbrandermedlis, mother of dragons, mother of the Talanjir clan, I will not let myself be killed even by my sister!" And suddenly she opened her mouth and spewed out a powerful stream of red-yellow flame, and the face of Gaal's mother was charred and turned into burnt meat, in some head parts pieces of a skull were visible, eye sockets gaped.

Lisandra stopped choking her, and the dead body of Gaal's mother fell on the snow. And Lisandra's scars were gone. Her face remained the same, except scar, only her eyes were no longer blue, but became yellow-brown, and the hair at the roots became orange-red and light yellow at the tips.

"She was real," Lisandra suddenly said with sadness. "She was my sister, I feel it, but she was not a mother."

The three dragons were in flight since all of them couldn't land on this top of the mountain. The dragons were shocked.

"I don't understand," Darlat said. "Was she the falsalvgudina?"

"No, Darlat, as I said, she was real askaldenfirst, she was one of us. But I think I died and was reborn! Like Gaal! But without his madness! And I think, I feel that Gaal is my son!"

"Gaal is your son?" Erafner shouted, "How is this possible? You are not my marthedraar? Do my senses fail me?"

"No, Erafner," and Lisandra flew up to him, "You are my son! I remember how I gave birth to you," she looked at Stellar, "and you, Stellar, you are my son too. But it seems that someone has robbed me of the memories of Gaal, and I feel as if I was giving birth to him too. It is a feeling, not a memory. How am I going to–" she broke off. "Let's first catch up with your brothers who flew north. I don't want the dragons to get lost again, or we'll never get everyone together, and Gaal will destroy the planet!"

"Very well, marthedraar," Stellar said.

"If you will attack me again, Stellar, when I protect our mother," Erafner turned to Stellar, "I will not be as kind as I was today!"

"I'm sorry, I thought she was a falsalvgudina," Stellar replied.

"Son, can't you feel me?" Lisandra asked.

"I do, but I'm used to doubting what I feel," Stellar replied.

"I don't blame you," Lisandra said. "Many dragons followed a false mother before you awakened. But now we all make it clear and it's time for us to go."

Lisandra's powers not only returned, but she felt as if they had increased a hundredfold. Until the moment she felt the hands of Gaal's mother on her, she almost didn't want to live, disappointed in the prophecy, and in who Gaal had become. She blamed herself for not saving her sons and her sisters' children. And she also realized that Edelmer was not her brother, not Nordavindurrin. She thought that she could not stop Gaal and everything was in vain. But now, when she felt the strength, she again had a strong desire to live!
