After confirming the validity of the news, the three male beastmen didn't linger around anymore and sprinted off to go deliver the good news to their Lord. A female as beautiful as her was better deserving of their fearsome Lord who had enough power to protect her. They didn't dare covet her!
Seeing that the strays were running off after seeing Sydney, Ken let out an emergency signal to a few of his tribesmen to follow the group unnoticed!
However, since Shawn also belonged to the same tribe, he automatically heard the message and froze in his actions. He had been busy sewing clothes when he felt the burst of suppressed energy. With his sense of sight distracted, he was particularly sensitive to such phenomena and without question, he knew something was off!
Caden who saw his abnormality also stopped what he was doing and set everything aside. What was happening all of a sudden?! His gut feeling told him that things were bad!
He walked over to the window sill where Sydney sat and carried her from there with her seated on his strong arm. He brought her back into the deeper ends of the riommand set her on the bed.
The animal skin that worked as the door was flung open by Ken and his eyes first searched for Sydney. When he saw her, he sighed and looked at Caden. Understanding the signal, Caden walked over and Shawn automatically followed outside to get a better understanding of the situation.
Sydney who had been silent watched as they tactically walked out but who was she? They actually thought that she didn't notice? A little while before she taken from the window where she was seated, she noticed a beastman break into a run which earned him confused looks from the others
Sincerely speaking, for ease in movement and efficiency, she had noted that these men couldn't wait to turn into their beast forms and do the task at hand. But that particular beastman had not only refused to shift but was also a bit clumsy on his own two feet! Even she wasn't that clumsy....let alone the formidable beastmen! How could he possibly escape her keen eyes?!
I think it's better you let me hear what you plan to say." Sydney said as she made herself comfortable on the bed, sitting with her legs crossed and arms crossed over her chest too.
Caden stopped in his tracks and looked back at Sydney. Females rarely indulged themselves when their males talked or fought but from one look at Sydney's euesy, he could tell that she wanted to hear it all! He was sure she'd get frightened if she learned of something that made her feel insecure. " We are just going to discuss some matters. Shawn and I won't be long and we shall return to make you more clothes!" Caden said trying to mask his intentions.
He was already terrible at lying! How did he think he would convince a female he likes with a lie?! It was already written all over his face that it didn't need a 3 year old to rake their brains.
I know someone who I've done nothing wrong to intends to harm me or anything....so, I'm not letting you guys put me out on this. I want to know every detail!" She spoke firmly leaving no room for discussion. Her whole facial expression was already daunting the males before her.
No one dared to say otherwise and hence, Ken walked into the room and found himself a seat in the corner. He remembered she didn't like him so he respected that.
So,what's going on?" she asked after every body was settled.
Ken who had just escaped suppressing himself looked at Sydney. She didn't in the least seemed scared at all and besides, she was asking to know more about it? He admired her fierceness but as a male werewolf, he didn't appreciate the fact that she was getting herself exposed to the danger he had yet to figure out! His principles were challenged!
He encountered for them what he found out and Caden couldn't help but fur sprout from his skin follicles. He was extremely tense that his muscles bulged but he didn't say anything.
Shawn was no different a she gritted his teeth. He really wanted to go over and rip those pests into pieces for even daring to think of his female.
And they saw her!" Ken added snapping the last shot of rationality left in both Caden and Shawn. "How could you let such a thing happen?!!" Shawn bellowed furiously.
Sydney knew she had been seen but she didn't think the matter would disorient the usually calm Shawn. Caden rubbed his temple aggressively that the skin around the area turned red. "We have to let everyone know!" he said.
After all, this was a matter concerning the security of their city and their female. The city had a total of 500 females and over 297,000 males. The number of males above fourth rank beastmen was less than 400, third rank beastmen were around 10,000. His head was already aching with just the thought.
Strays were extremely disastrous beasts, if they intended to attack that city, they didn't give a damn about the damage they'd cause while the city residents had alot to consider! The females, pups ..there was alot!
"Hear me out!" Sydney said to draw the three men's attention to her. After listening to the situation, she knew that she was soon to be kidnapped to be taken to a palace that's no different from hell. She also learnt that some crazy 'pest' had taken a fancy to her hence sending over his underlings to take her to him.
She had thought of reasoning with the preparator of all this but her hopes were squashed when she learnt of what would happen to her if she even made it to their lair.
"So you plan to inform the whole city and keep them on high alert?!!" Sydney couldn't believe these people. "You can't do that! It's like giving yourselves away.... you'll definitely be at a disadvantage!" she enlightened them.
"But that's how we've been doing for so long! We gather all the females and let half of the highest ranking beastmen keep guard, the other half joins the rest to fight." Ken explained. What other tactic existed?!
Sydney sighed to calm herself down. "That's where the weak point is exactly!" she said calmly and all the men looked at her. Seeing that she was being serious, they shut up and listened.
"I'll go as a bait." she said and all men looked at her confused.
"What's a bait??" Shawn naturally asked. This terminology was alien to him.
"I'll go out there to lure those beastmen out." she explained but was answered by protesting growls and a high pitched screech.
"That won't happen!" Caden was up on his feet and pacing around agitatedly.
"NO!!!!" Ken left no room for negotiation.
"Why?!" Shawn murmured after realising that he had raised his voice at her.
