Seated between both males, she listened attentively as they explained in detail everything that she needed to know. One thing that shocked and excited her at the same time was the fact that a woman can have as many mates as she wanted. Her naughty mind couldn't stand the fact that these women were not only lucky to be this pampered but also got to feast on gorgeous men like these. Was she allowed to get males of her own?! she wondered hopefully.
Life back at earth was lonely, she had parents and siblings but after her studies, she chose to leave the life she had dreamt of, away from the world into her own. She loved being alone but not lonely and now that she was here, she wondered if she was going to be treated any differently.
"Um, I wanted to ask something..." She said and both males looked at her curiously.
"You just have to say what you need " Shawn said softly. He had developed a fondness towards this female in particular and the closeness with her made his heart tremble in estacy.
"Ah, okay. Now that I'm considered a female of the eagle tribe, um..do I get to choose my mates?!" she asked her eyes falling on both men. They were kind and she bonded well with them...it wasn't a bad idea if she chose these two first..heeheehehe! She was so excited.
"Of course... you'll be the one to choose the males that you want." Caden said to her seeing how she seemed to adapt very well. Normally, females bought from other tribes were a bit troublesome and would throw tantrums all day till they got what they want but this one was reasonable. She didn't throw a tantrum and was reasonable, she asked questions and didn't just sulk.
"But I'll have to return to my world at some point...won't that implicate the beastmen that I'll have become mates with?!" she wondered. She was already giddy about the whole thing but feared what would happen when she left, not like her mates would be able to find other females... they'll become abandoned beastmen because of her!!! She didn't want that! These men were too innocent to hurt...they were too pitiful against the cruel natural laws in this world.
Hearing her concern, both males fell into their thoughts. True to the point, Sydney was not from the beastmen world, if some day the gods chose to take her back, her males would be the ones to face the repercussions. Shawn whose hope of getting acquainted with the well spoken female felt his chest fall in despair, firstly, he couldn't see her to be able to imprint her face in his memory..if one day she left without him getting to see her...what would happen then?! "How about you stay with us here?!" he voiced out his thoughts his face already scrunched in pain. Just the thought was even inflicting him with pain...then what if it truly happened?!
Sydney looked up at Shawn and saw the blind beastman seemingly looking her way, she looked at Caden and he too had a blank and cold look. 'Was it too late for him to withdraw his heart?!' he thought. Looking at her sparkling green eyes and small face, he could tell he was already a goner. It was too late!
When his uncle clearly stated his position of not wanting a mate, Caden couldn't hold back his heart, first, the female was perfect and she was down to earth too, she showed reliance on him and just like any male, his instincts to provide for her shot up without warning. When he sat down to talk to her, his mind was filled with their future, when she'll love him, and they'd mate, the she'd carry the proof of their love and bond in her belly, then on a special day, he'd become a father. He'd be there when she accepted other males into her family and together, they'd provide for her and grow old together.
But when he heard her speak of the possibility of leaving, he froze and didn't know what to do, he wanted to cry but had never cried before so he didn't know how to.
Was this possibility of her leaving scary? Yes....it was but he'd follow her even to the ends of the beast world or even to her world... " When males chose the female they like, it doesn't matter what happens, their love for the female will remain even when the beastmen die. For as long as the spousal marks remain and you don't cancel them, your mates will find their way to you. That shouldn't worry you." Caden spoke not only on his behalf but also in behal of any male beast he knew. The extent of their feelings was that broad.
Hearing his reassuring words and confident tone of speech, Sydney's worry slowly disappeared to be replaced by a huge smile that lit up the whole place. That's a relief!!" she giggled away tickling the males hearts. Shawn loved the sound of her voice filled with joy and Caden drowned in the beauty of her smile. He loved her!
I'll light up the torches so that darkness isn't overwhelming." Shawn said when he felt that the sun was soon going to sleep. Females hated the dark and their sight were as bad as his during the night.
Sydney looked at him feeling bad...since she came here, she had done absolutely nothing but eat. I'll come along..!" she said before she could think.
You don't have to...I'll be really fast and return." Shawn smiled and turned to Caden. Sensing not resentment from the eagle prince, he felt his heart lighten and with this affirmation, he rushed to light the fire torches.
How's he able to move about without hurting himself?!" Sydney asked Caden with a pained face.
Do you pity him?" he asked.
No..it's not pity...!!" Sydney said alarmed.
He's not as incapable as he seems... females here a little bit over superficial about certain things when it comes to choosing their mates. Did you wish to have him as your mate?" he asked.
Well..I was considering the possibility but since I've just met him and you...I think I need to learn more about you on an individual basis before I make my choice. I wouldn't wish to hurt anyone intentionally or unintentionally." Sydney said. These men were indeed great and she loved their company but she still needed sometime to assess them.
Don't feel pressured or obliged to taken in any male, accept him if you want him or if he has proved himself to you to your satisfaction. Normally, before a male becomes a female's mate, he is considered an admirer and if the female accepts his advances, then he is her pursuer... at that point, he hopes to become an official mate since it's usually just a matter of time, depending on the female's choice."
Then what of you? What stage are you at?" Sydney asked looking at the beautiful male before her.
Well... I'm ....." Caden blushed hard. What does she want him to say?
"Do you like me?" she asked making Caden choke in his saliva. His reaction was so cute that she almost giggled. "Mm?" she moved her face closer to his own making the poor eagle Prince's heart jump to his throat and forget to breathe.
Hopelessly, he nodded his head but kept avoiding her green eyes. Seeing his affirmation, She was delighted. "I like you too. So you are my pursuer now right?!" she asked and he nodded innocently. She was to regret ever thinking these men were innocent! They were beasts and she'd be having a taste of them in the near future!
Then what of Shawn?!" she asked.
Shane who had returned at the speed of light stayed hidden behind a wall and he had overheard the conversation between the two. The young prince was surely lucky and also, receiving such a confession from a female was magical. He could only fantasize on how the eagle prince felt at the moment, he felt happy for him! If only he had gotten to her first...would she also accept him? he snickered at his thoughts bitterly but froze when she spoke of him. Time stopped as he awaited her verdict on him.
"Ummm...I'm not sure about how he feels...so, um... I'll first watch him and see. I don't wish to take him incase he has a female he likes." she murmured feeling embarrassed. She had just accepted one guy and now she was already jumping to the other!!!
"You don't have to feel embarrassed about like more than one male... I don't mind." he said with a soft smile. She was already considering how he was feeling about accepting other males. He was far too in love to fall back. He was willing to accept her choices in males..but of course after 'evaluating' them properly.
Shawn walked out from his hiding spot with a smile, he didn't want to female to feel like he had overheard their conversation. He longed for more but even this much was enough. The fact that he was in her mind was enough. He felt sated.
"Night has come...would you like to eat?" Shawn asked as he lit the other fire torches in the hall.
"I'd like to bathe...is there a place I can wash from?" Sydney asked but then recalled she had no clothes. Should she wait till tomorrow?!
"Should we return to the eagle tribe, I have my own space there and alot of hides to make you clothes." he suggested.
However, Sydney knew that if they left..then what of Shawn? Would he remain here all alone? "I'll reside here untill the bonfire night. Um, we can go visit the eagle tribe tomorrow..how about that??" she asked hoping Caden would agree.
"Where you are is where I'll be." was all he said making Sydney laugh at his cheesiness. Seeing that she chose to stay, Shawn was estatic and rushed to boil water for her bath and prepare her food too.
