Time passed rather quickly here on the tranquility of the nature. In a moment, the two lads already skinned and prepared to roast the deer whilst the outlandish girl gathered water out of boredom from the nearby stream. Not long, they used their time eating the roasted meat of the deer, sitting on the meadowy space. Of course, Hardy leandre Bogazi is 'getting along peacefully' well with Ishnaia, while Alister Van Gesneriaceae asks countless questions to Ishnaia unrelentingly, even repeating questions she failed to answer when they first met, including the descriptions of where did she came from and how and why did she fell from the black tear or ripple from above the empty space. Ishnaia answered blatanly.
"I really have no fucking idea!" Ishnaia answered irefully, "Maybe I'm a sorceress from the land still undiscovered by barbaric people like the both of you."
"I-I see… if you say so..." Alister replied, trying to look at her without suspicion.
"I know wild unknown creatures exist, but I can't believe weirdoes appearing from nothingness actually DO exist…" interposed Hardy, rubbing his chin.
"To summarize, you think you were experimenting a teleportation spell and wind up here in the wilderness without memory of events before because it's not perfect, isn't it?"
"That's right Prince Charming!" Ishnaia nodded, thinking if she convinced them.
The two boys stared at each other and both sighed. Ishnaia cannot help but feel abashed by this sight.
"Wh-What, you don't believe me?"
"No, I believe you for not knowing anything else." Alister pondered, deep in thought. "I hope we could really help you gain more information on what you are and where you came from, maybe the people back from our kingdom could assist you on your journey if it comes to that."
"Yeah, but lad," Hardy added, "If that's the case, isn't that bad? Will it not jeopardize her land? She told us that it is still undiscovered by barbaric people like us, right?"
"Ah! You're worried about me, right?" Ishnaia clasps her hands, "Don't worry Sir Harry! There's a spell there that only those who lived there can see the lands!"
"No! I'm not worried! And hey! My name's Hardy! Who in the blazes is Harry!?"
Ishnaia sneered and shugs animately as a reply. Annoyed, Hardy could only scratch his head by her attitude towards him.
"Now is my turn to ask you a question Alister!" Ishnaia declared, pointing her index towards the prince, "because you're starting to annoy me with those unceasing questions!"
"ah… Is that so? I'm sorry if I annoy you" Alister said while bowing apologetically.
"Never mind, here's the thing-"
"Nah, tis alright lad, continue to annoy her." Hardy blurted, smirking.
"Shut up dwarf" Ishnaia answered bluntly. "Anyway Alister, tell me, that is this world called?"
Alister and Hardy had their eyes met, as if asking one another if the mysterious woman is serious to her question. Then Alister looks at Ishnaia and answered.
"This world is called Theia."
"Yeeeeah lassie," Hardy sneered and snickered, "Don't act so high and mighty if you ploughing don't know where you are!"
"Ha-ha-ha, whatever dwarf. Anyway, Elizer-"
"It's Alister Milady…"
"Yep," Ishnaia nodded "Alister or whatever, tell me more about some history of the world, we have plenty of time yet right?"
"Lady Ishnaia," Alister voiced with worry, "you… really don't know anything about our world?"
"Weeeeell," Ishnaia sighed, "I guess I hit my head hard? The dwarf may be right about that."
"Hah!" Hardy victoriously intoned.
"Tch!" Ishnaia seethed with disgust as a reply.
"Alright," Alister smiled, "How about the tale regarding the Calamity of Gesneria? Do you know or remember about that? I guess almost everyone knows I fathom…"
"Calamity? Ooooh! Sounds powerful! What's that?"
"I could only tell you an abridged version of what my teachers told me about if it is okay with you."
"Go on, don't be shy, just give me the gist."
"Well then…"
Alister thus proceeds to talk about day of cataclysm wherein Ishnaia listened carefully. It all began when the earth shook the grounds that almost end the world. Large Waves surge from the seas, Trees flew from its roots, Houses fall like leaves; many people met an unfortunate death, including beasts. All men believed it is the end of the world, until a female vagabond named Aliya came.
She proclaimed to the few fortunate survivors hiding in the caverns, that everything started when the sacred mountain near the center of the world, surrounded by ocean, cried blood that burns, since men sinned gravely to the world through vices and misdeeds to others, wherein the only way to repent is to travel to that place across the ocean. However, everyone believed it was suicidal, that all who will attempt to go are fated to shipwreck and die under the unforgiving seas. Thus, no one volunteered. The vagabond was not surprised, she expects this, and hence, she devised her sacred plan.
With a golden spear ornate with lotus and lilies at her back, she said that they must strike her with it cleanly to her beating heart to calm the terrifying calamity for two years. At that time, they must bring her lifeless body to the sacred mountain and cast it away into its mouth so that the lands will gain calmness for eons, or else, the calamity will resume. People knew her plan is mad and unbelievable, that a life of some random vagabond may save the lands, however, one by one; they believed her; until almost all believed that her plan of pure insanity would save them. Everyone who heard her agreed, because it is the only choice given to them, and there is nothing to lose for. After all, who cares for the life of some random stranger when their life is at stake?
"When her consent was approved by the few survivors, their leader, Ithere Van Gesneriaceae, my ancestor, even in the midst of the shaking land, held the ornate spear of the vagabond and cleanly pierced her heart. Afterwards, her blood flowed like a fountain and seeped into the soil, and the soil, craving for its nourishment, it drank it like a man madly craving for water in the middle of the sun, and at the very last drop of it, the earth calmed. At that moment, the spear became grains of sand and scattered within the hungry soil, and everyone knew that everything she said was true.
The plan was led by my ancestor after her death, and everything went by as been foretold by the female vagabond. The great calamity stopped completely when her body fell inside the mouth of the sacred mountain. Thus, people began revering her as a goddess who saved the world, and people celebrated a new cycle of a year to commemorate her coming and death by the ornate spear, people then called it The Spear of Destiny. And my father told me I'm named after the goddess because of my mother's devotion to her."
"…"
"And from the spear's soil, this ring was forged with the blood of Ithere, the first king and became the symbol of our blood as only with his blood flows within one may fit this ring."
"…"
"Ishnaia, Is there something that matter?" Alister asked worried. "You look pale…"
"No, nothing…" Ishnaia answered, forcing a smile.
Ishnaia knew that this tale is familiar, too familiar that her eyes seethe with sorrow, and hatred. Yet, she does not know why.
