A hopeful gaze emerged in the woman's eyes as she looked up to face her son, but it quickly vanished. She straightened up and rubbed her forehead. She can't believe she let this boy get her so hopeful. After all, what can this boy even do?
"Ha, I am not in the mood to joke around Elijah. As she turned towards the door, she remarked, "Go and finish your meal and go to study" she said before walking towards it. As she began to move away, her son spoke again.
"I am not joking, mother. I have something mother would be interested in" he spoke in a stern voice.
She came to a stop and turned around to face him.
Elijah had always been a nonchalant boy. Never caring about anything or anyone, which would get him in trouble with his mother. His voice, though, was different today. His eyes appeared to be different as well. Maybe she could listen to him for a few seconds, the woman thought.
