Chapter 1 - Genesis

Life. Is it a blessing, or is it a curse?

I ask myself that question every day, or more like from the very day my life went into a series of upheavals and Chaos.

"My tale, haha... where to start?"

I wonder to myself, petting the soft feather of my companion, my beloved crow.

"Well all stories start somewhere, some start with impact, some start with tragedy, some start with romance, while others start with revenge."

My Alpha before my Zenith wasn't anything too grand, nor was it something common either.

I will start at the beginning of my life.

My name is Rodney Armstrong, I hail from a mid-class family, my father is a blacksmith and my mother is a seamstress.

Although growing up I always place myself as vastly different, because for some unknown reason, deep down I have always felt immensely superior to others if not vastly special than many to exist, or will exist, while in reality, this wasn't true, I'm not better than anyone, if anything I desire only a world of silence.

I wasn't strong like many my age.

I wasn't academically gifted like so many others I know.

Nor was I talented in any field to be perfectly honest, I was normal, very normal, although my love for reading mysteries was the only appealing thing about me in the slightest if a hobby in question was to be asked.

I felt like I was different from all the kids around me. Then in my teen years, I finally found out why I felt that way and saw why I was different.

It started when I went on a camping trip with my school. I remember it just like yesterday; it was a cold breezy day in the month of August. We were going up to trails to reach the camping area bout quarter of a mile from where our bus was parked.

The teachers were in front of the students going up along the way into the way of the trail. But in this origin story of my tale, we can say the minor event about to take place was where it all began.

Walking up the trail we heard a chilling growl that echoed through the forest, it seem so close. And that wasn't an exaggeration; because everyone stopped dead in their tracks. when we encounter a beast of the wild.

The students were scared in front of me; while the teachers tried to reassure us to stay calm; but before they could utter another word; from the corner of a tree, a beast on all four. Double if not thrice my size came out of the shadows, as it stood on its two hime legs, before us; stood a colossus bear approaching with a growling sound so eerie and bone-chilling at the same time everyone took off in all different directions in fear of their life.

Meanwhile, in shock, panic, or maybe confusion, I stood there horrified at the beast figure as I was properly frozen with fear.

There stood before me a huge grizzly bear with teeth gnarling and a gigantic body that cast a dark shadow above approaching me.

I was going to die, I don't want to die, and yet I'm going to die. These were the thoughts coursing if not flooding in the back of my head all at once.

And then when it pounces on me; something awoken inside of me, something familiar, something raw, something primordial if not alien.

I felt like a ripple of heat and energy was coursing through my body. And for a better lack of words, the bear suddenly stop dead in his tracks just before he could get any closer to me, it struggled but the more it struggled the more it was punished under some invisible influence, finally, the creature was pushed back so far that it breaks several trees.

From there I couldn't recall what happened to it, was it dead? Was it alive? Was it badly injured? Honestly, I didn't know because moments after I went into a deep trance-like state because my mind surrender to blissful unconsciousness.

...

...

...

...

Twenty minutes later; I woke up on the school bus with teachers and kids surrounding me like I was some kind of exhibition. I slowly got up feeling dizzy and thirsty, and at the same time, my teacher asked me if I was ok and what had happened.? Who help you from the bear attack and how did they kill the bear he ask with a bewildered look on his face. I answered I don't know all I could feel at that time was fear and a sharp stabbing pain in my head while my last memory was the bear approaching rapidly and everything just faded to dark after that.

The Rangers came along with the police officer and I overheard their conversation. The Ranger a small short plump man in a dark green shirt and grey pants told the officer and my teacher this is a really strange one and can't understand what happened to the poor animal it seems like he had a vein or something explode in its brain, along with almost all of its bone broken, which followed with rupture of every organ in the body.

It was as if the bear was hit by a speeding truck. But that was impossible seeing the location that we were in.

Blood comes out of its orifice and ears and everything, cause of death wasn't it even the severe injuries it gain to some unknown definitive, it was a stroke and a horrible one at that.

"Well, golly man."

Said the Ranger as things like these never happened in these parts. I think we should just keep all of this quiet no need to let the public know about it we cannot explain it any which way we try to it's puzzling and a mystery.

We got on the bus and we drove back to school and then I went home and the events keep playing on my TV screen. Four weeks pass and then it happened again I was walking home from school and this older kid and an adult that was sitting on the bench that lined the walkway to a route on my way home.

As I pass them the adult hollered Come here kid, let me ask you something, I pretended that I didn't hear him and started walking faster and faster. The young kid started walking behind me as walk faster he walked even faster and faster till I did not realize he was that close until felt his grip on my arm.

The kid look young but his grip felt strong that it stop me in my tracks; he said let me have everything you have and you won't get hurt he said with a serious expression on his face.

The fear I felt at that time was immense because he pulled a switchblade on me; it shined glisten in the light of the sun's rays.

I was so paralyzed with fear I could not move; I froze dead in my tracks once more there and then.

The adult ran up to us and I told them I had nothing please let me go am not into no trouble and we can forget this ever happened. Shut your damn mouth boy said the adult and before he could finish his sentence I felt a punch in my stomach. I felt the air leave my body and went down to the ground in pain. The kid took my school bag and began taking out everything I currently had.

I had a rare Babe Ruth baseball card I got from my grandfather that was old he gave it to me before he died and I always keep on me for good luck.

Automatically I began pleading as I say please give it back don't take it.

He just shrug at my futile attempts and began to laugh and kick me back down to the ground in annoyance. I felt pain in my knees, but I was mad at the unfairness of such treatment.

This was a violation and personally, I would have this, I didn't care anymore, stab, cut, pierce, slice, I want my card back, and out of rage, I start punching my offender, and then that feeling when the bear attack came rushing in again.

I don't know what happened but I looked up and saw him fly five meters in the air and he landed on a garbage can leaving him motionless. The adult said you son of bitch what did you do to my boy I'm going to kill you.

He rushed at me with the switchblade he had. And before he could reach much less touch me; he suddenly stop and fell to the ground holding his head and writhing in pain and I saw blood coming out of his ears and eyes, as he fell moments after. The sight of the blood made me pass out as well and after what seemed like an eternity I finally woke up.

I look around they were both on the ground motionless I got up feeling groggy I gather my stuff and ran all the way home. I finally realize that something is wrong with me. so it began I found out I was not normal. Thus the journey started what follows is a story no one would believe unless you were me and it happened to you.

This is my story, my Genesis, my revelation, my alpha, and my Omega.
