It took even fewer seconds to reach the study, David dragging me along behind him. But just as we reached the secret door ajar, he stopped abruptly, peering through it.
"No one yet, thank God," he whispered. Then he pulled me through to the library, shoved the shelf-door closed, then turned and pressed me into the wall beside it.
His hand cupped over my head and he pinned me against the wall from chest to hip. He'd taken me by surprise, so for a moment I just stared at him. Then I threw my arms around his neck as he descended with a heated kiss.
"Zara..." He sipped at my lips, then pulled just far enough away to speak. "We cannot be caught..." We locked eyes until I took his mouth again, leading with the flat of my tongue. "Shit..."
