I was back in a dream.
Here, bodies rushed and spoke with hushed urgency. Shadows moved, falling over me then disappearing, reappearing again so that the dream seemed to spin. I felt the fear of it all, my body a prison.
And through it all, he called to me. Torment and torture, love and heat. And through it all I tried to tell him, stop. Don't tell. Don't let them find you. Don't let them find us.
Only one thing was clear: Evil was present, and it was coming for him.
But the world continued to spin and flash, the shadows passed and lifted, and my body refused to respond.
My pulse was a drum in my head, slowing.
