I relaxed a hair then, but out of disappointment more than anything else.
"How did he get her in here," I asked as we passed into my royal suite.
"They blindfolded her and brought her through the passages," Stark said, an undercurrent of disapproval in his tone. Clearly he hadn't been a part of that conversation. Though in the end, I found I really didn't care. I just wanted to know what the hell was going on.
As Stark led me through the living room and into my bedroom, he indicated my study.
"It was the only place we could be certain we wouldn't be overheard," he admitted.
I stormed through the bedroom, and as I passed the bed, my stomach clenched at the memory of waking with Zara that morning.
She was so beautiful and I had been so hopeful… and now everything was going to shit again.
But then I stepped into the study and made myself focus.
