Her hair was shorter and more modern, and her skin looked a little more freckled. But her mannerisms were exactly the same. I blinked and blinked and blinked. But she didn't disappear.
I knew that graceful hand that reached for the next book, and the eye that winked at the reader who was gushing…
I recognized that smile.
And even though I couldn't hear it now, I knew the voice that was greeting the people in line and giving instructions to the guy in a suit who stood over her like a bodyguard.
I shook my head, but there was no denying it.
"Emory?!"
Emory was here… and she was an author?!
"Emma Lee."
I blinked and took a moment to refocus. The woman who'd been in the line before me was smiling apologetically. "Her name is Emma Lee. I just… I think if you're here she'll probably expect you to know that."
