I swore, she would blind me with that beauty.
As we clung together, still breathing hard, I was stunned.
That had been incredible. So wonderful.

"David," she whispered, her still-trembling fingers now gentle in my hair, gripping me. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," I groaned into her neck.
"David…" She pulled my head up, forcing me to brace over her shoulder, to raise myself so our eyes could meet—hers shone with love, but her forehead was pinched into lines of worry. "What is it?"
My chest still rose and fell quickly, I was still shaking, shoulders heaving. But I stared down at her with all the adoration and delight coursing through me. "Nothing is wrong, Zara. I'm only… desperate for you. You're mine. My wife."
"I am," she agreed with a brilliant smile that faded quickly. "So… what's wrong? This isn't like you. Don't get me wrong—I loved that. But… you aren't yourself."
