I smiled down at Zara as Stark cleared his throat, then sighed.
I felt his eyes on me, saw his smile in the corner of my eye, but couldn't take my gaze off Zara.
When he spoke, it was low and quiet, since only the four of us needed to hear it. But I was surprised by the slight tremor in his voice at times.
"I have been party to many marriages, many unions between man and wife. I have to tell you both that this one… this touches my heart in a way no others have.
"David, when you were still a teen, your father tasked me with the honor to watch over you should anything happen to him. It was a responsibility I took on gladly, because even then I could see the man you would become. And I am proud to say that I haven't been disappointed, not in the slightest."
