I walked through the halls and checked every room that I thought Shaku would be in. But I wasn't able to find her and anyone that I asked didn't know where she was either.
I ended up just heading back to my room. Since I could just apologize to her whenever I find her.
Which ended up being a lot sooner than I could have imagined. Because when I had walked in my room there she was. Sitting on my bed with Michael's head on her lap.
"I guess he likes you." I said as I walked in.
"I was surprised too when he came over and laid his head on me." She responded without looking at me.
"Shaku I'm sorry." I said as I sat beside her. "It took me some time and some help but I know that you just care about my wellbeing. Even if I don't understand the why or because of my past. It's not an excuse to have treated you in a way that would have angered you. So I want to tell you I'm sorry."
I looked over at her to see how she would react. To my surprise she had a smile on her face.
"I guess that's just who you are." She said as she put her head on my shoulder. "You know just a simple and sincere sorry would have been enough?"
"I wanted you to be able to know wether or not I understood why you angry. And why I was apologizing to you in the first place."
"Thank you... After all this time spent together I still don't know you after all." She said with the second part of that almost sounding sad.
"You should at least know that I have no sense of time out here." I said making her laugh.
"I guess that is true. If I remember correctly about how Earth works, you should have been with us for roughly five months."
"Five months!?" I said shocked which ended up surprising Shaku too. "I guess I never really knew how time worked." I said with my usual demeanor.
The two of us laughed. Which after all this time felt really nice to be able to laugh again. But it also felt kind of weird at the same time.
"Do you feel that?" I asked abruptly.
"N-no, what's wrong?"
"I.. I don't know." I said as I slowly got up and walked towards the door.
It felt like I was being pulled towards something. Like there was an invisible string attached to my brain. That was being pulled on by the other end by someone.
So I did the only thing I felt like I could in this situation and followed this feeling. Leading me across the ship all the way down to the deployment bay.
"Hey Tadao, we were just finishing up in here." One of the mechanics said after noticing me.
Though this tugging feeling was so strong that I couldn't even move my focus off of it to respond. So I didn't. I ignored all of them in the room and just moved forward. Closer and closer to the Gargoyle.
"Is everything alright- whoa whoa whoa, the repairs are barely finished for it to deploy." Shouted another mechanic as the Gargoyle started to move.
It lowered it's hand so I could get on. Lifting me up to the pilot console which caused a massive commotion for the mechanics in the room.
"Tsk- We can't risk them busting a hole in the deployment bay. Everyone evacuate and open the deployment bay for launch!"
As I was getting comfortable the bay doors were opening up for us. Though while I was in the Gargoyle that tugging feeling was gone. It was almost like it was calling me over for some reason.
"Alright Sun Slayer, show me what you called me over here for."
With that we blasted out from the deployment bay leaving like a red streak through the stars. We went so far that I couldn't even see the ship from this distance. Though we weren't slowing down at any point.
A light started to flash on one of the screens as if we were nearing another ship. I looked out in front of us and it was right. However there was barely anything left of the ship. So much of it was scattered everywhere like it was completely dismantled out here.
"Is this what you wanted to show me?" I asked looking around the wreckage.
I noticed in the center of the wreckage that there was a large chunk still intact. I slowly made my way over to it and took it in our hand. Turning it over I could see a window that revealed a man was inside of it. A human male.
Without any hesitation or second guessing I took the pod and raced back to the ship as fast as we could. We came back so fast that when we came to stop in the deployment bay I almost flew out of my seat.
