Screams, explosions, clashes, threats, and more could be heard echoing in the forest from the moment Lioz and his two compatriots left the scene. Arrows claimed the lives of the unsuspecting, knives searched for open backs, and swords sometimes came up front.
As the battle surged around them, David paused for a moment, glancing at the sky where an arrow split the air, its flight just an example of the chaos below, eventually being blocked by their protectors, using the flat side of his sword.
"Let's move," David said. They had about fourteen protectors, making them relatively safe. Of course, even if they took a direct hit, it would hardly leave a scratch given their true power.
