--- In the eastern continent Esesʼ country of Velsion ---
In the southeastern part of the continent lay the country of Velsion.
The country was separated from the neighboring Empire of Zenoa by a vast gulf, which seemed to stretch to the horizon.
In the middle of the gulf stood an island, the island of Velznar.
It was a forbidden land, owned by the powerful Vulturnus, also known as the Sword God of the East.
No one was allowed to set foot on it, and those who attempted to do so were met with swift punishment.
The country of Velsion was under attack by terrifying monstrous creatures.
At night, these mindless monsters pillaged.
Their origin was unknown, but some believed they were sent by the ruler of the country of Barcita, which lay on a peninsula to the south.
The monsters were easily recognized by their blood-red eyes, sharp claws, and deadly spikes across their bodies.
They descended upon the city, destroying everything in their path.
The citizens of Velsion ran for their lives, their screams filling the air.
The streets were painted red with the blood of those who were unfortunate enough to be caught by the creatures.
It was a gruesome sight, with numerous corpses lining the streets.
The monsters were ruthless in their attacks, instantly devouring anyone who fell to the ground.
Some of their victims were torn in half, others were ripped to shreds.
As the chaos continued to unfold, it was evident that the people of Velsion were in great danger.
The sky turned dark, an ominous sign of the impending doom that awaited them.
The citizens could only hope for a miraclous intervention to save their beloved country from certain doom.
The citizens were running in terror, bumping into each other like atoms colliding.
Amidst the chaos, a young girl was shoved to the ground, spraining her ankle.
She tried to run but the pain was excruciating, and tears streamed down her face.
Three unknown monsters were crawling after her, growling with their blood-red eyes and sharpened claws.
"HELP!" she screamed, her voice echoing in the deserted streets.
Suddenly, a boy dressed in black appeared, with long white hair that flowed like silk in the wind.
He approached the monsters, and the girl could see him clearly, his calm expression giving her a sliver of hope.
He wore a long black robe, and his attire made him stand out in the chaos.
"I don't want to die!" the girl cried, her fear palpable.
"Don't worry," the boy said, his voice oozing with confidence. "I'm not here to let you die."
The boy suddenly performed a move called [Crushing Demon's Fang].
His fingernails grew into long claws, veins popped up on his hand, and his eyes turned blood-red.
She watched in awe as he nonchalantly slashed at the monsters.
The monsters were no match for his power.
He slashed through them with ease, cutting them into little pieces of flesh that writhed on the ground.
The girl was flummoxed, her eyes wide with wonder at the boy's power.
"When did they start sending these things?" he muttered, his eyes still red from the attack.
She was speechless and awestruck.
The boy, on the other hand, didn't seem to care.
His eyes were no longer blood-red, and his demeanor was just as calm as before.
"You're the Sword God of the East," the girl said, her voice shaking. "I've heard of you."
He remained expressionless, revealing his fangs. "I'm not," he said.
As the monsters were being killed in other parts of the vicinity, the citizens of Velsion were gradually gathering around.
"What's happening?" a woman asked as she edged closer to the scene.
"We're safe now," a man replied. "These monsters won't be infesting our streets anymore."
Some of the citizens looked at the boy who saved the girl and were in awe of him.
But not everyone was convinced.
"Look at him," a man whispered to his friend. "He's dripping with monster blood. How do we know he won't hurt us?"
Another person walked into the frame, and people's attention was drawn to him.
It was a tall, pale man, with long black hair tied into a bun - Arkannar.
Noticing his arrival, the boy who had saved the girl turned to face him.
"So the rookie Vampyre, Velrossa, killed 92 Rank A monsters so casually, how interesting," Arkannar addressed Velrossa.
Velrossa remained indifferent and replied in a low voice. "Don't call me that."
Arkannar smiled smugly. "How can someone be so arrogant?"
The girl who Velrossa had saved was being carried away by medics, although she had no injuries.
She thanked Velrossa, "Thank you so much, sir. I wouldn't be alive if it weren't for you."
Velrossa however, didn't respond, still standing before the shredded corpses of the monsters.
"Impressive work," Arkannar continued, breaking the silence. "How can a Vampyre your age, easily kill so many Rank A monsters?"
Velrossa remained silent, his eyes fixated on the corpses.
To describe Velrossa in more detail,
He had a lean body, and his face was chiseled like a sculpture.
His hair was silver-white, almost glowing in the twilight, and his eyes were a shade of crimson that seemed to glow with an inner light.
The citizens watched as Arkannar and Velrossa spoke, wondering what the future held for them with these extraordinary beings.
Velrossa was what they called a Royal Vampyre, the highest of the three which were Royals, Nobles, and Basics.
Arkannar believed that Velrossa was always proud of his position, being turned into a Vampyre by the daughter of the Third Vampyre Progenitor, Fetoria Vin Klaus, which made him one of the highest-ranking Vampyres.
But Velrossa had very little interest in that.
Nevertheless,
Arkannar declared Velrossa to be smug, mocking him for his arrogance.
Another Vampyre named Nes entered the scene and spoke ill of him. "I don't like that I was sent on this assignment with this guy," Nes said. "I hate how highly he carries himself."
Velrossa didn't care, and he didn't respond to Nes's comment.
"If you're done talking, clean up," Velrossa said. "I need to rest."
As a Royal Vampyre, he was their superior, while Arkannar and Nes were both Noble Vampyres.
Nes was a rough-looking Vampyre with scars on his face and arms.
He had short, spiky hair that stood up in all directions, giving him a rugged appearance.
His eyes were blue, which was strange for a Vampyre, but it made him look unique.
He had a broad chest and powerful limbs that showed he was a capable fighter.
"You know, Velrossa," Arkannar said, "if you keep acting this way towards your fellow Vampyres, you'll never gain their trust."
Velrossa sighed, exasperated. "I don't need their trust," he replied. "I just need them to follow my orders."
Arkannar chuckled. "You'll learn someday that being a leader isn't just about giving orders," he said. "It's about earning the respect of your subordinates."
Velrossa ignored him and took a few steps back, watching as the other Vampyres cleaned up the mess.
His mind was elsewhere.
...
The Vampyres stood before the citizens, their eyes glowing red in the dim light.
"You have been saved by us," Arkannar stated, "and as such, you shall devote yourselves to serving our God, Silvana."
The citizens shouted in defiance, "We will do no such thing!"
"Then you have three choices," Nes interjected, a wicked grin on his face.
"Behave like good little humans and obey, turn into livestock for our nutrition, or leave and become monster food." (Nes)
Velrossa remained seated in the shadows, silent as ever.
He watched as Arkannar and Nes intimidated the humans.
Even though he was their superior, he preferred that they told the humans the situation.
The citizens were frozen in fear, and it was clear they didn't have a say in the matter.
One of them finally spoke up, "Is serving the Vampyre God all we have to do?"
Arkannar responded with a sly smile, "No, since Silvana is benevolent, she won't turn you into her blood meal. Instead, she wants offerings of your blood every week."
The citizens were shocked but relieved that they wouldn't become food for the Vampyres.
However, Nes warned them, "For now, it may not be so bad, but later on, more Vampyres will inhabit this area, and the demand for blood will increase."
The atmosphere was tense and suspenseful.
The citizens were trapped, and it was apparent that the Vampyres had the upper hand.
Velrossa finally spoke up, "Let's give them some time to think about their decision."
Arkannar and Nes nodded in agreement, and the Vampyres left, disappearing into the shadows.
The citizens remained, afraid and unsure of what to do next.
"(How did it come to this? Turning humans to livestock..)" (Velrossa)
The boy asked himself, confused.
