Selena's eyes widened in surprise as the shadows enveloped her, offering a momentary respite.
"Shinon, what...?" she began, her voice confused. "I can't do anything like this! How am I supposed to fight when I'm trapped inside this shadow thingy!?"
Shinon's voice cut through the chaos, his tone firm. "Well, Selena, considering the fact that you were getting overwhelmed, I thought becoming a cocoon was a better option for you."
"How...you know what, fine. Do it yourself."
His words stung, but Selena knew deep down that he was right. Her skills were faltering in the face of the relentless onslaught. She nodded, accepting the truth in his statement, and focused on catching her breath within the shelter of the shadow shield.
With Selena protected, Shinon unleashed his shadowmancer abilities, channelling the darkness within him. Shadows coiled around his hands, forming elongated tendrils that darted towards the nearest zombie dog.
