Chapter 71 - Cuteness overload

"Stop staring at me like that, Dora."

Finn quickly put his mask back on, but it was too late because Dora was already as red as a tomato.

She grew up surrounded by thugs who didn't enjoy washing themselves, so seeing someone like Finn made her feel like her heart was going to burst.

He was also the only person, other than her father, whom she respected, so seeing him be her age and extremely handsome to boot, she felt her heartbeat speed up.

'Not again… This is another reason why I wear a mask.'

Looking at the stunned Dora, Finn shook his head.

'This happened to me a lot too, you know. I am handsome, and I had girls falling in love with me all the time.'

Loki smugly bragged to Finn.

'So? What did you do to prevent them from falling in love with you?'

Finn was willing to forget Loki's past dumb answers, but he really needed his help this time.

'It's actually really easy.'

'Nice! Then what should I do?!'

Finn was happy that there was an easy solution to his problem.

'I created a harem, and whenever a girl fell for me, I would make her fall even deeper for me by showing her my skills in the bed, and then she would always join my harem.'

'…'

This was the last time.

Finn swore to himself that this was the last time he would think that the dumbass in his head could somehow help him.

But before he could start shouting at Loki for being the least helpful companion he could ever wish for, Dora opened her mouth.

"Sir, can I ask you a question?"

'Here we go…'

"Ask."

Finn acted calm, but he already knew what was coming.

"...Are you single?"

Looking down and blushing, Dora asked in a soft voice.

"No, I have a girlfriend."

"I see… Do you want a lover?"

Dora became disappointed for a second, but then raised her head in hopes that Finn might want multiple partners.

"No."

But she was met with a flat rejection from him.

Since Finn currently has the most perfect girlfriend he could ever wish for, why would he choose to be greedy and try to chase after different girls when this greed could hurt Sophie.

He loved Sophie so much that he knew he would never get bored of her, and if he were to find different girls, that could bring him momentary pleasure, but it would also hurt the person he loved the most.

"If in the future you want a lover, then-"

Not giving up, Dora tried asking Finn again, but he didn't even let her finish her sentence.

"Stop. I love my current girlfriend, and I am sure I won't want a lover, so please just stop and forget what you saw."

Finn was starting to think that he was cursed.

Being handsome was one thing, but whenever a girl was rejected by him, she would never give up, which he found really weird.

It was like they all got charmed by a spell.

But he didn't really know why it was happening, so he just ignored it, and even though Dora wanted to tell Finn that she was willing to fight for him, he firmly rejected her.

---

'I must really be cursed…'

Finn was sitting alone in his office after telling Dora to do something outside the bar.

He decided to work on some documents while waiting for Fae to wake up.

'…'

Loki didn't tell his usual jokes because he was starting to think that he knew what was happening.

When Loki's consciousness entered Finn, some of Loki's passive abilities were carried over, but they were really weak and not really noticeable.

Like his passive skill gambling luck, for example, if Loki wasn't good at gambling, then Finn wouldn't even notice he was luckier while he was playing poker.

These abilities also worked in real life outside the game.

Finn's other abilities didn't get carried over to his real life body because they were still taken as his in-game skills, but Loki's passive abilities were viewed by the capsule as part of Finn's being, just like one has the ability to breathe, so after Finn's body had changed, the capsule gave him these passive abilities as well.

Loki had a lot of different passive abilities, and one of them was his innate charm.

If Finn looked ugly, then he wouldn't even notice that this ability existed. But Finn was handsome, so that meant he met the requirements, and this ability was automatically used.

Normally, girls might be interested in him, but after being rejected, they would just give up.

With the skill in play, though, the girls will feel like he is their soulmate, and they should never give up on him.

But it didn't make girls fall in love with Finn. What it did was make already-existing feelings of love bigger.

Loki thought that this was the reason the girls Finn met acted like this, but he chose to stay silent because he knew how much Finn loved Sophie.

He could feel Finn's feelings when he was inside of him, and he knew how much Finn adored her.

So if he were to tell Finn about this ability, then Finn would most likely assume that Sophie only loved him because of Loki's passive skill and not because of who he was.

Loki liked to joke around when he was talking to Finn, but he didn't want to break Finn's treasured relationship apart by telling him a theory that he wasn't even 100% sure of, so he decided to wait and see how other girls would react to see if he was right.

---

Dinner time soon came, and Finn went to the room Fae was in to bring her to the dining room.

Lightly shaking her, he tried his best to wake her up.

"Five more minutes, brother…"

She mumbled, and after turning away from Finn, she fell asleep again.

"Fae, I prepared crepes with jam and whipped cream for today's dinner."

Finn leaned down and whispered into her ear.

"Crepes!"

She immediately sat up and looked around.

Fae then realized that she wasn't home and the person talking to her wasn't her big brother but Finn.

"Hello, sleepy head. I know that it's evening and you want to sleep more, but you need to eat dinner first, okay?"

Finn looked at her with a gentle smile.

He didn't know if he was cursed or not, but he knew that he could remain unmasked when he was around Fae, so he took his mask off before entering the room.

"Okay… But you have to brush my hair…"

Fae remembered how her big brother always used to brush her hair after she woke up, and she wanted to feel someone carefully brush her hair again.

Finn was happy that Fae was opening up to him, so he agreed with a smile.

"Alright, anything for my little spoiled Fae."

He took the brush that was on the bedside table and began brushing Fae's hair.

After hearing Fae call him "big brother," he really started to think of her as his little sister because she was just that cute.

So he brushed her hair for a few minutes and then stopped once her hair looked nice and neat.

"Okay, now let's go or the food will turn cold."

Getting up, Finn felt like something was tugging on his sleeve, and as he looked down, he saw Fae staring at him with puppy eyes.

"…Big brother Finn."

When he heard her call him that, he felt his heart melt.

If she had asked him to bring her the moon from the sky in that very moment, he felt like he wouldn't care if it was possible or not. He would find a way.

"...Yes Fae?"

So, quickly calming his beating heart down, he smiled at Fae.

"I still have my pajamas."

Fae moved her arms up and down to show Finn that she was wearing her pajamas, but because the sleeves were too long for her, they flapped in the air, making her look like a baby chick trying to flap its small wings.

"Ahhhh!"

Finn kneeled down while clenching his heart, and Fae became worried about him, so she grabbed his shoulder with a scared face.

"Are you okay, big brother Finn?!"

'FUCK! She is too cute!'

Not wanting to worry her too much, Finn patted her head and smiled at her.

"I am alright. We are just going to eat, and then you are going to sleep again so you can wear your pajamas. Also, I asked everyone to leave the bar for today so there is nobody that might see you."

Hearing Finn say that, Fae was happy that there wouldn't be other people because she wasn't quite ready to meet someone other than Finn yet.

"Oh… Okay! Let's go eat crepes!"

So she nodded her head and jumped off the bed.

She then began tugging on Finn's sleeve again, and he stood up while trying not to collapse from how cute Fae was.

Finn had bought her white pajamas that had small brown teddy bears on them, and with her cute face and beautiful silver hair, she looked so cute that Finn was wondering if it was legal to look that adorable.

After walking for a bit, they entered the dining hall, and Finn helped Fae prepare her crepes.

He didn't lie when he said that he was the one who made them. His parents were good at cooking, and by helping his mom, he was able to learn a few easy recipes.

"Is it good, Fae?"

Finn asked while preparing another crepe for her.

Before he even put the jam and whipped cream on it, she would already have finished the previous one.

This meant that he didn't have time to eat, but he didn't care because he kept smiling while looking at Fae.

She was eating while making a "Nom Nom" sound, which made her even cuter.

Finn could have cooked a more nutritious meal, but he decided to give her crepes because they would make her feel full even if she ate a small amount.

Also, the food had a lot of fats and sugars that Fae needed for energy and weight gain.

She had already eaten a lot of food for lunch, so Finn planned to give her something sweet for dinner and then feed her a lot in the morning before their departure.

"Yes! It is delicious, big brother!"

Fae vigorously nodded her head to show Finn that the crepes he made tasted really good.

But after eating four crepes, she finally began to feel full and decided to tell Finn that she had had enough.

So finn took a tissue and wiped her face, which had jam and whipped cream all over it.

"You are a messy eater, aren't you, Fae?"

"mMmm."

She tried to tell Finn that she was a big girl, but with the tissue cleaning her mouth, she could only mumble a nonsensical sound.

"There. You are all clean now. Let's go back to bed so you have a lot of energy tomorrow."

"Yes…"

Fae was getting tired and started to rub her eyes.

She didn't get to sleep a lot when she used to be a slave because she would always be scared to fall asleep, but now that she knew that Finn would protect her, she got tired really quickly.

Seeing how sleepy she was, Finn picked her up and carried her to the bed.

After putting her on it, he realized that she had fallen asleep in his arms, so he covered her with a blanket and let her sleep.

The bed she was using was the bed that Finn normally used, so he took a spare blanket and, after placing it on the floor, laid down on it.

Before he fell asleep, though, he thought about everything that he had to do after he would arrive on the Elvish continent with Fae.

He knew that everything would depend on her explanation, because if he were to just bring her there, the elves wouldn't even ask questions and would just kill him straight away.

The elves weren't normally this overprotective, and they would at least try to question Finn if he had brought back any other elf that got kidnapped and forced into being a slave, but he wasn't bringing just any ordinary elf back.

He was bringing back Fae, the current princess and future queen of the Elvish continent.

Lying down, he also started remembering Fae's story and the reason she became a slave.

It was a story of love, a story of betrayal, and a story of heart-wrenching pain.
