Dick scraped and clawed his way out of the wreckage, he saw how his pursuer quickly recovered and was now walking towards him with clear malice.
Dick scrambled from the wreckage and tried his best to make distance from the madman chasing him. Dick could hear the boots Jase wore clomp against the ground, growing louder and louder, as Jase got closer and closer.
The young boy had taken the form of a monster to Dick, he heard Jase keep a steady slow pace behind him while he limped on his now broken leg. Dick was suffering as he did everything he could to save himself from the psychopath chasing him.
Dick stumbled down onto the blacktop of the highway, he looked up towards Jase as he gained on him. He loomed over Dick, and Jase lifted his boot and kicked Dick on the back. The pain shot up through Dick's spine as he did all he could to get his feet again.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING DUDE?" yelled Dick frantically searching for some humanity in his attacker.
Jase did not respond. He just approached his now standing prey again with his arm reeled back to swing out at him.
Before Dick could even react his feet were off the ground, the fist's hydraulics extended into his lower ribs, he felt a handful crack under the force of the punch. He skidded across the blacktop scraping his skin and tearing his clothes.
Again Dick clambered to his feet and attempted to hobble off, however his pursuer was unrelenting. The chase continued into the night out on the quiet highway, the wreckage now a burning beacon in the distance.
PSHHTTT!
The sound was sudden and loud, but Dick didn't feel anything happen, nothing changed.
'What was that noise?' thought Dick, as he suddenly felt his right leg going numb.
He glanced down and saw blood dripping from the back of his thigh, with the metal grappling hook wedged deep into his leg.
"OH MY GOD! HELP! HELP! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!" scream Dick in a panic. The desperation was clear; he feared for his life more than ever now as tears rolled down the sides of his face.
"PL-E-EASE ANYONE!" he called out again hoping for someone to save him.
The hook yanked Dick to the ground as he planted his hands onto the blacktop to stop himself from being pulled any closer. His fingers burned against the concrete as they were dragged along, he tore apart his fingernails just grasping for any way to survive.
When he found himself no longer being dragged, he covered the back of his head and begged for mercy.
"PLEASE...PLEASE…..I'M SORRY JASE!"
Jase again remained silent just staring down at Dick with indifference.
"PLEASE MAN I-I-I WON'T TAKE FROM YOU ANYMORE, JUST NO MORE, I WANT TO GO HOME!"
"You won't take from me anymore…."
"YES YES, I WON'T I SWEAR….."
"You won't take from anyone anymore….." said Jase, becoming more sadistic in his speech.
"Y-YES NO ONE I SWEAR!"
"You won't be going home either….."
"WH-WHAT? NO PLEASE PLEASE!" said Dick as he rolled over to reveal his head was gashed and tears streamed quickly down the sides of his face. He wanted to look him in the eyes to better reason with the monster above him. Dick was met with Jase's fist consuming his whole vision as it rapidly approached.
"YOU DESERVE THIS YOU PIECE OF SHIT! YOU MUGGED ME EVERYDAY! WHY? I WAS HELPLESS!" Dick was hit with another powerfist assisted punch as Jase rambled on. Jase climbed on top of Dick to better hit his face.
"WHY, WHY HIT ME WHEN I WAS ALREADY SCARED OF YOUR KNIFE YOU-YOU-YOU-"
As he unleashed another punch, Dick's vision became clouded with red.
"YOU THINK YOU CAN TAKE FROM ANYONE DON'T YOU!"
WHAM!
Dick coughed up blood, clearing his throat for a final plea, "please…. please stop." His bottom lip quivered in fear as he pleaded for his life.
"NO! YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE!"
Jase swung another punch.
"YOU DESERVE EVERYTHING THAT I WENT THROUGH!"
Jase swung his fist again. Dick's hand went up onto Jase's face to try to push him off.
"NO ONE ELSE WILL GO THROUGH WHAT I WENT THROUGH!"
Jase's fist again collided with Dick's face.
"YOU HEAR ME?!"
Jase slugged him again.
"YOU HEAR ME YOU PIECE OF SHIT!?"
When Jase hit Dick this time, his arms fell from Jase's shoulders as he lay still on his back.
"YOU HEAR ME?!"
Jase swung again.
"HUH?!"
Again.
"ANSWER!"
Again.
"YOU ANSWER ME!"
Again.
This time Jase waited for a response but got none. He felt a clarity wash over him as he looked down at Dick's face, all that was left was an amalgam of flesh, bone, and blood.
Jase looked up into the clear night sky, he grappled with what he had just done.
"FUCK!"
