Late at night, in the library of an orphanage on the outskirts of Delhi, a handsome young boy was reading a book on history.
His name was Sanju, he was an orphan from a young age and spent most of his time reading books that were available in the library, playing with his friend, watching movies, et Cetra.
That was like every other day for the boy, or so he thought.
Today was the day his life took a 180-degree turn without any prior warning. You ask why? let's continue with the story
*cling**rattle*
Suddenly, he noticed that the lights of the room were blinking, the sound of rattling entering his ears.
'Earthquake??', he thought.
He composed himself instantly and rushed over to the door and was about to head outside of the building for safety.
'wait....everybody else is sleeping. daamit'
He turned around and headed towards the bedroom where his peers were sleeping.
*click*
He opened the door and saw some of them were already awakened trying to figure out what was happening.
"Hey Rompo, Kuro hurry up guys. We have to get out now!" Sanju shouted.
To be honest, he was panicking inside after observing that the shockwaves were getting worse and worse over time.
'The bell! Yes, let's use that.', Sanju thought of the bell used in their daily routine.
He rushed for the bell without wasting any further time. After reaching his goal he pressed the button.
*riiiiiing*
*huff huff*
He again started running towards the door.
'This is bad. why did I come back?', he was afraid, so afraid that he started regretting his decision to come back.
The sound of various things falling could be heard from the sides.
Sanju was out of his breath as he was not much of an athlete and he was running for quite a while now.
'Just a little more.' he thought as he saw the exit 20 steps away from him.
"Sanju, run fast!"
"Come on man!"
His friends were shouting from the outside.
He at last made it out safely and started catching his breath.
"Congrats, buddy", Kuro said
"uh-huh huff congrats huff my ass", I replied
"I knew you could do it, Sanju", said Rompor from the other side.
"I swear to god, I'm never pulling this shit again," I said after some time.
"Yeah, never do that." said the both of them almost at the same time.
We looked into each other's eyes and started laughing a little.
Soon, the earthquake passed by and the trembling stopped.
Seeing that some of the adults went in to know about the state the building was in now.
Most of the children were outside including Sanju and his friends.
Suddenly, Rompo asked, "anything in the media about this?"
"dunno", replied Sanju and shrugged his shoulders.
Kuro took out his mobile and searched, 'Earthquake in Delhi.'.
Suddenly, a cracking sound entered their ears.
Before Sanju and the others could look in the sound's direction.
A nearby electricity pole where they were standing fell.
And it fell on Sanju, or it was supposed to.
Just as the poll was at a finger's length to his head, it stopped.
And not just the poll but everything in his surroundings stopped, not even his body could move anymore.
[Mortal, would you like me to help you live?]
Sanju heard a mighty voice. There was no emotion behind that voice like it did not care a single but what was happening and everything was below the being.
Sanju tried to speak but his mouth won't open no matter how hard he tried.
[I take it you do not want to live any-]
'I wanna live. I don't want to die.' He screamed inside his mind.
No one wants to die in this world, humans develop medical science just for that reason after all.
[hmmm, You want to live right?] the voice asked
Sanju suspected that the voice could hear his thoughts, and it was completely logical since this being was capable to stop time.
In one word, it was incomprehensible.
'Yes'
[But there's a price you have to pay if you want to live.]
'Dear God, what can this humble man give in return?' Sanju knew this being was an existence comparable to god so he referred to him that way.
[Don't call me by that disgusting name.]
For the first time, there was an emotion behind the voice, and it was clearly anger/wrath whatever you may call it.
Snaju was afraid to its core and could not form a single thought for a second.
Before he could say anything, the voice said, [Anyways, I know you mortals believe in Gods, so I forgive you for that.]
He continued, [I will give you 3 skills and send you to another world completely different from the current one. You just have to do one thing.]
'...and that is?' He asked hesitantly.
[It's simple. Entertain me.]
Sanju was baffled, he thought he heard it wrong and decided to confirm.
'Pardon?'
[Oh it's nothing, I do some experiments every now and then to keep me entertained.]
[And that's where mortals as you come.]
Sanju was repulsed by that idea, he couldn't imagine him being a joker or monkey used by someone for their entertainment.
'Then, Go ahead and let me die.'
[?? You don't want to live anymore?]
'I want to...but not as someone's lab rat.'
[That's interesting. I have never faced someone who rejected it.]
[You know that every teen on earth wants to go to another world with amazing skills, right?]
'I know.'
'But I'm not them.'
[But that's not for you to decide now, is it?]
'huh?', what was it saying? It clearly asked me if I wanted to live or not.
But what the hell was this situation??!

I literally imagined someone waving his hand to me with a grin on their face.
