Chapter 91 - Chapter 91

"You are Omegas," I guessed as I took a bite into the cheesiest, gooiest lasagna I had ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth. "And you are okay around me?" I asked almost as an afterthought. After all, I was Head of my own House.

"We are," said the second one. She seemed to be the youngest of the three, the sparkle and joy that radiated off of her made me want to smile and play.

"Why wouldn't we be okay around you?" asked the third woman as she cocked her head to look at me.

"I am a Head of a House," I said slowly.

"You don't feel like an Alpha. You don't feel like a Beta either," said the third one with a shake of her head. She wrinkled her nose as if she was trying to figure out my scent. "Are you sure that you are a Head of a House?" she asked as if it was okay that I changed my mind and denied it. "It's okay if you aren't. We would still want to play with you anyways."

I chuckled at her as I took another bite of heaven on a plate. "I am sure."

"But Heads of Houses are Alphas and you definitely aren't an Alpha," said the second one as she too came over to me and tried to get my scent. I wasn't offended. I knew that wolves relied heavily on their sense of smell.

"But she does smell like the Hunter," giggled the second woman as she took a step back. I rolled my eyes, ignoring everyone in the room in favor of eating my dinner. I was hungry and I didn't even get to eat at Viktor's before that news popped up. It was almost like they knew we were coming and that we would be hungry.

"We did," said the first one.

"Can Omega's read minds?" I asked startled. I was pretty sure that I didn't say anything out loud.

"No, but your scent tells a lot. Plus the look on your face," chuckled the first woman and I saw her shoulders relaxing. It was almost like something had taken the edge off of her.

"It was a massacre, and yet, not a drop of blood to be found anywhere," I heard Lucas say with a tired sigh. The women around him doubled their massage efforts in an attempt to help him relax.

I looked up, startled. Did Lucas and Viktor really want to talk about this now? With all the Omegas in the room?

The confused look on my face caused the first woman to let out a low laugh and lean down to whisper in my ear. "Alpha's always ignore us," she whispered, turning my attention over to where Viktor and Lucas seemed oblivious to the women around them. "They would have sent any Betas or Gammas away if they don't want others to know their secrets. But we are more like the furniture than anything else so we get to stay."

Her words shocked me. That wasn't right. "Are you okay with that?" I asked as I looked her in the eyes. The men were still talking about the grave, but my entire focus was on the woman in front of me. "You know, you don't have to put up with it."

She let out a bright smile, the happiness in it shining through. "We don't mind. We actually like it. We get all the gossip, know all the secrets, and the Alphas never know," she whispered so low into my ear that I knew the two Alphas in the room couldn't hear it.

"Well, if you ever need an escape, you can find me," I said as I took out a card from my wallet. It only had my name and phone number, but it was enough.

"Natalia Tesalor," said the woman as she read from the card in her hand. I hummed. "Yup, Head of House Gypsy. My doors will always be open to you, should you need them. And even if you don't, company is always welcome."

I was completely relaxed around the woman in a way that I had never been around strangers before. "It's the key to being an Omega," she chuckled, once again managing to read my mind without reading my mind. "And we would love to come sometime."

"We?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. I wasn't too keen on having Lucas showing up unannounced.

"We," confirmed the woman. "Omegas go everywhere together and there are about 50 of us in this house right now."

She gave me a wink and took away my now empty plate, just leaving the hot chocolate. My appetite and curiosity satisfied, I leaned back into my chair and listened to the guys.

---

"So, you have no idea who could have done it?" asked Viktor as he looked at Lucas in front of him. The other man shook his head, and I felt a tiny bit bad for him. I mean, in no way was I ever going to be a fan of the man that threatened me more than a few times, but every loss of life was a devastating blow.

Looking at Lucas' face, I could see just how much the deaths seemed to take out of him. He was almost a shell compared to what he was the last time I saw him.

"None," he growled as one of the Omegas started to massage his temples, trying to alleviate the pain of the headache that must be brewing beneath his skin. Now that I knew what to look for, and knew that these were Omegas, I could see that Lucas was letting them do whatever they needed to do to calm down instead of him demanding this type of thing.

"Vampires?" I asked, budding into the conversation for the first time. The men shared a look before they turned their attention to me.

"Not possible," said Lucas with a shake of his head. "As much as I would like to blame it on the bloodsuckers, there is no way that this is them."

"Why not?" I asked in confusion. There was no blood in the grave or left in the bodies, how could they not jump to that conclusion?

"Because Vlad would not let something like that happen," said Viktor turning to look at me. "Vlad rules the vampires through fear and power. None of them would be willing to go against him and attack this many wolves."

"Okay, then where is Vlad?" I asked. "You would think that he would be here too if he didn't have anything to do with it."
