Chapter 6 - Ch.6:"This marriage is not to be performed, not to-morrow, nor ever."

Back in my room, i began to think of a plan.

I had to get this womanizer off my back , once and for all!.

And the only way to do that was to dump him to someone else, no one better than his own lover, Isabelle.

And I decided that this would be my first revenge.

----------That night--------

I stayed up all night , looking for a "method" that was right for me.

Then...stroke of genius;

"Found it!... I will use "that"".

While I was planning in more details my first revenge ,days went by and I could feel my body slowly recovering.

On the 5th day "my father" returned from the front.

*creeeak*

"Welcome back, my lord!": butler Gerald

"Gerald, where is my wife? Why isn't she here?": Marquis Ludwig de Leroy

"*Um*... the Marchioness , at the moment, is at the boutique "très jolie", to buy new clothes and jewelry": Gerald

"*AH!*,As usual she is spending my money on nonsense;for her, all those clothes locked in several closets, are not enough!, BECAUSE!... SHE ALWAYS WANTS THE LATEST FASHIONABLE DRESS! ; EVEN TODAY, ON THE DAY OF HER HUSBAND'S RETURN, SHE PREFERRED TO GO AND SQUANDER MORE MONEY.. she has not changed at all! WHAT A GOOD-FOR-NOTHING I MARRIED!": Marquis Ludwig

"Gerald, remind me to decrease her liquidity of money... I'LL SHOW HER WHAT IT MEANS TO WORK HARD TO EARN CASH!": Marquis Ludwig

"Yes, my lord":Butler Gerald

-------

The marriage of the Marquis Ludwig and the Marchioness Yvonne , was not a union of love at all, but for economic and political reasons.

-------

"Gerarld , where is Layla?": Ludwig

"Miss is in bed": Gerald

"It's past noon...and she's still in bed!? ,what has this family become...!?": Ludwig

"No my lord you misunderstood! , she is not sleeping... she is in bed because she is very ill-":Gerald

"ILL!? , WHAT ILLNESS!?!?!" : Ludwig

"*Um*...we still don't know yet what caused her illness , BUT! she is recoverin-":Butler

"Enough! I don't want to hear any excuses.

In these 7 years away from the villa, fighting on the front line , NOBODY HAS NEVER TOLD ME ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT WAS GOING ON HERE; ONLY NOW,IT TURNS OUT, THAT MY ONLY AND BELOVED DAUGHTER IS SICK."

"WHEN SHE RETURNS, JUST WAIT! ...I WILL..!": Ludwig

"My lord, please calm down! , if this continues, your health will suffe-"

"SHUT UP GERALD!DON'T YOU DARE TELL ME WHAT I CAN OR CAN'T DO IN MY OWN HOUSE!!": Ludwig

-----------------------

The yells of "my father" could be heard even from the 3rd floor of the villa.

And from what I learned, I understood that he really cared about his daughter.

*Uhm?* One thing that that doesn't sit right with me is why the Marquis' paternal love for Layla is not mentioned in the book?.

In the book he was described as:

"The Marquis was a distinguished noble, cold and unable to feel feelings he considered "weak"; his only interests were money ,alcohol ,gambling and ... nothing else".

-----10 minutes later-----------

*creeeak*

"Layla, my child, how are you?!": Marquis

*COFF*"I'm fine, tod..ay it's a lo..t. bett..er"*COFF*

*sob-sob*"My baby, What did they do to you while I was gone..?!. *sob-sob*

Since I transmigrated in this book, I have never seen a man cry; also my father struggled to show me a little affection.

And seeing him, I perceive where Layla got her beauty genes:

A man in his forties, tall, with a jacket that , having the first button unbuttoned, allows to see the physique not worn out by time;curly blond hair ,similar to the color of wheat, and green eyes that bring to mind the color of emerald.

-------------------------------------------------

*Uhm?* But then, where did Layla get her eye color from?.

------------------------------------------

While, at his side ,he had his bride ,the Marchioness Yvonne:

A woman in her thirties, not very tall, 1.60; black hair like the plumage of a crow and eyes of a very dark brown, almost black , which recall the color of the bark of a linden tree.

-------

*sob-sob* "I'm sure it was that viper of your mother who reduced you like this! *AH!*JUST WAIT ... WHEN SHE COMES HOME ,I..WILL-!"

*coff*"Father ,please.. don'..t say t..hat; Mother ,in your... absence,.took g..reat car..e of m-"*coff*

....

*sob*"..

....

*sob*"..

....

*sob*"Deep down I always knew...;you're too good even to those who hurt you."

*sob*"don't worry my child ,.. from now on I will protect you..".

Trying to console me of my pain ; he didn't think twice to hug me.

That embrace was the first fatherly warmth I received after 20 years of troubled existence..

.... such a pleasant warmth.

*creeeak*

"My lord,... the Marchioness is back": butler Gerard

Protected in my father's embrace, the butler informed him of the Marchioness' return;

"It would have been better if she had never come back" because...

...what was revealed after ...was like getting stabbed in the chest.
