It wasn't like I didn't expect the question from her. The way she looked at me just a few moments ago was a dead giveaway to it.
"You want to grow stronger?"
"Isn't that obvious?"
"Why?"
Is it for your parents again?
"Because..."
She stopped herself mid-sentence. Her mouth opened and then closed several times. She seemed to be struggling to find the right words to say. Eventually, she mumbled,
"For me."
"For you...?"
"Hah, yeah. For me..."
She didn't elaborate any further. However, that was good enough for me. Had her motivation been for her parent's recognition, I wouldn't have been able to train her.
I needed her to be desperate.
Just like Sarah. Desperate for her goal. And her half-hearted goal of wanting to be recognized by her parents was simply not going to cut it.
Yes, it wasn't a bad goal.
