Chapter 2 - Life After the Accident

Yusei opened his eyes and found himself lying in a hospital bed. The room was white and sterile, and he could hear the beeping of machines and the soft whispers of nurses. His head was throbbing, and his body ached all over. He tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through his chest, and he winced in pain.

A nurse rushed over to him and gently pushed him back down onto the bed. "You need to rest," she said, her voice kind but firm. "You were in a terrible accident. You're lucky to be alive."

Yusei's heart sank as he remembered the crash. He had been so focused on his love of piercing that he had neglected to think about the safety of himself and his parents. He closed his eyes and prayed that they had survived.

"Where are my parents?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

The nurse hesitated for a moment before speaking. "I'm sorry, but they didn't make it. They passed away in the crash."

Yusei felt as if his world had collapsed around him. His parents were gone, and he was left alone in the world. He couldn't imagine how he would go on without them.

Days turned into weeks, and Yusei slowly began to recover from his injuries. His body was healing, but his heart remained shattered. He spent most of his time in the hospital room, staring out the window at the world outside. He felt like he was in a daze, unable to process the enormity of what had happened.

One day, as he was staring out the window, he noticed a bird perched on the windowsill. It was a small bird, with brown feathers and a bright yellow beak. It chirped happily, as if it had not a care in the world.

Yusei watched the bird for a long time, and he felt a small spark of something deep inside him. It was a feeling he had not felt in a long time - hope. He realized that even though his parents were gone, he still had his own life to live. He couldn't change the past, but he could choose how he lived in the future.

As he made this realization, Yusei reached up to touch his piercings. He realized that they were more than just metal decorations - they were symbols of his strength and resilience. He had survived the accident, and he would survive whatever else life threw his way.

Yusei left the hospital with a newfound sense of purpose. He knew that he needed to start living his life fully, in honor of his parents. He moved in with his aunt, who lived in a small town on the outskirts of the city. The town was peaceful and quiet, a stark contrast to the chaos of the city.

Yusei spent his days exploring the town, making new friends, and trying new things. He found a local piercing studio and became a regular there, getting new piercings to symbolize his journey through life. He felt like he was finally becoming the person he was meant to be.

Despite the pain and sadness of losing his parents, Yusei had found a new sense of purpose and hope. His love of piercing had saved his life, and now it was helping him to live it fully.
