Kyla had been struggling with depression for a long time. She felt like there was no escape from the darkness that was consuming her. But then she met Aki, a kind and caring man who made her feel like life was worth living again.
One day, as Kyla was sitting on the couch staring at nothing, Aki approached her and said,
"Hey, Kyla, I know you're going through a tough time right now, but I want you to know that I'm here for you. We'll get through this together, okay?"
Kyla looked up at him, tears streaming down her face, and whispered,
"Thank you, Aki. You have no idea how much your support means to me."
Over the next few weeks, Aki did everything he could to help Kyla. He made her breakfast in bed, took her for walks in the park, and even went to therapy sessions with her. Kyla felt grateful and loved, and slowly but surely, her depression began to lift.
One day, as they were lying in bed together, Kyla turned to Aki and said,
"I don't know what I would do without you. You're my rock, my everything."
One day, Aki decided to surprise Kyla with a proposal. He took her to a beautiful park where they often went for walks, and got down on one knee.
"Kyla," he said, taking out a small box from his pocket. "I love you more than anything in this world. Will you marry me?"
Kyla was stunned. She had never expected Aki to propose, and she was overcome with emotion. Tears streamed down her face as she struggled to find the words to say. Finally, she managed to whisper,
"Yes, Aki. I will marry you."
They embraced each other tightly, both of them crying tears of joy.
"I can't believe this is happening," Kyla said, looking up at Aki with a smile. "I love you so much."
Aki grinned back at her, his eyes shining with happiness.
"I love you too, Kyla,"
he said, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead.
"I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
The next day, Aki said goodbye to Kyla without telling her where he was going, but he reminded her to take care of herself. Hours went by and Aki still hadn't returned, causing Kyla to become increasingly worried and anxious.
She couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong, so she decided to call Aki's mother to check if he was at home. The phone rang for a while before Aki's mother picked up, sounding surprised at Kyla's call. Kyla asked if Aki was at home,
Kyla asked if Aki was at home, but Aki's mother answered, sounding confused and concerned, "Kyla, what are you talking about? My son is gone. Are you dreaming about Aki again?"
Kyla's heart sank. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. "No, Auntie," she replied, her voice shaking. "I'm not dreaming. Aki said he was going out, but he hasn't come back yet. I'm really worried about him."
Kyla was in shock, unable to comprehend what Aki's mother had just said. "Auntie, what are you talking about?" she asked, her voice trembling. "Aki can't be dead.
But Aki's mother's voice grew louder and more frantic. "Kyla, what are you saying? My son has been dead for years. He's been at peace for a long time. What are you talking about, Kyla?"
Kyla felt like the ground had been pulled out from under her feet. She couldn't believe that Aki had been dead for years, and she had no idea. She dropped the phone, tears streaming down her face.
Kyla couldn't believe what she was hearing. She had just spoken to Aki's mother, who told her that he had been dead for years. But she refused to accept that he was gone, so she decided to call her psychiatrist to ask if she had seen him.
"Doctor, I need to ask you something," Kyla said, her voice shaking. "Have you seen Aki? Is he still alive?"
The doctor's response was confusing. "Kyla, what are you talking about? You came here alone for your check-up. You didn't bring anyone with you. Are you seeing Aki again? Did you forget to take your medication? Wait, I'll come to see you."
Kyla felt a surge of panic. Was she hallucinating? Was Aki really dead, or was this all in her mind? She didn't know what to do.
Kyla couldn't control her emotions and broke down into tears. She started hitting herself,
The doctor quickly noticed Kyla's sudden change in behavior and saw the knife in her hand. He immediately took action and tried to stop her.
"Kyla, put that down!" the doctor said firmly, trying to take the knife away from her. "You don't have to do this. We can help you."
Kyla hesitated for a moment, but eventually, she let go of the knife. She fell to the ground and started crying uncontrollably.
"I can't do this anymore," Kyla said, sobbing. "I just want the pain to go away. I want to be with Aki."
The doctor sat down beside Kyla and held her hand.
"I know it's hard, Kyla," the doctor said softly. "But you need to remember that you are not alone. There are people who care for you and want to help you get through this. You need to hold on to that hope and keep fighting."
The doctor comforted Kyla and gave her some medication to help her calm down. He stayed with her and didn't leave her side, making sure that she was safe and stable.
The next morning, Kyla woke up to the sound of someone moving in the kitchen. She got up and saw the doctor cooking breakfast for her. She felt grateful and touched by his kindness.
"Good morning, Kyla," the doctor said, smiling at her. "How are you feeling today?"
Kyla rubbed her eyes and sat down at the table.
"I'm feeling a bit better, thank you," Kyla said, smiling back. "I appreciate you staying with me last night."
"It's my pleasure, Kyla," the doctor said, handing her a plate of eggs and toast. "I want to make sure that you're okay."
Kyla took a few bites of her breakfast and then the doctor reminded her to take her medication.
"Here, take this," the doctor said, handing her a glass of water and a pill. "It will help you feel better."
While she was eating, there was a knock on the door. Kyla stood up, but the doctor told her to sit down and that she would open the door. Kyla sat down and watched as the doctor, Dr. Sheila, opened the door. A woman was standing there and asked for Kyla. Dr. Sheila asked the woman what she needed, and the woman replied that she was looking for Kyla.
Upon hearing her name, Kyla peeked through the door and saw Aki's mother. She told her to come in.
"What are you doing here?" Kyla asked, surprised.
"I'm here to tell you something important,
" Aki's mother replied. "Can we talk in private?"
Kyla looked at Dr. Sheila, who nodded her head in agreement. Kyla then led Aki's mother to her room so they could talk in private.
They entered Kyla's room and talked.
Aki's mom asked if Kyla was okay.
Kyla replied that she's not okay but she will do everything to get better.
Aki's mom suddenly spoke and said, "I know you haven't forgotten, but it's been a long time since Aki passed away. Don't you remember that you were together?"
Kyla was confused and asked,
"What do you mean by being together?"
Aki's mom said,
"You went to Aki's cousin to discuss the design of your wedding gown. While on your way home, a car with no brakes hit you."
Kyla immediately burst into tears upon hearing the news from Aki's mother.
The mother of Aki embraced Kyla and comforted her.
"Don't be sad, Aki wouldn't want to see you crying and feeling down," she said.
Aki's mom spoke up and said, "Oh, by the way, I saw this in Aki's things, this necklace and letter, it's for you." Then she continued,
"Okay, I need to go now. Don't neglect yourself, okay? If you have any problems, just call me."
Kyla replied,
"Thank you so much, Ma. Take care as well."
Kyla couldn't help but cry tears of joy as she saw the necklace and letter that Aki's mother had given her. She quickly opened the letter and began to read the heartfelt message that Aki had left for her.
Dear Kyla,
I hope this letter finds you well. There are a few things I wanted to say to you that I find difficult to express in person. You are an incredible person, and I feel lucky to have met you.
I remember the first time we met, I was struck by your warmth and kindness. I felt an instant connection with you, and as we spent more time together, my feelings for you grew stronger. You have a way of making everyone around you feel seen and heard, and I admire that about you.
I never thought I would fall in love with someone as deeply as I have with you. You make me a better person, and I am grateful for every moment we spend together. Your smile, your laugh, your gentle touch - these are the things that bring light to my life.
I want you to know that I am committed to making our relationship work. I know that we will face challenges, but I am willing to work through them with you. You are worth it.
Thank you for being in my life, Kyla. I love you more than words can say.
Always and forever, [Aki]
Kyla couldn't help but cry as she read the letter. The memories of her time with Aki came flooding back to her, and she realized just how much she missed him. The words in the letter were so heartfelt and genuine, and they reminded her of just how much Aki loved her. She clutched the necklace in her hand and felt a sense of comfort wash over her. It was as if Aki was still with her, even though he was gone. Kyla knew that she would always cherish the memories of their time together, and she would keep Aki's love with her forever.
After a few days, Kyla completely recovered and visited her boyfriend, Aki. She told him everything that she had been through during her depression.
Kyla bid farewell and thanked Aki for the happy memories they shared. Even though their wedding did not push through because Aki passed away, every time she remembers him, she holds onto the necklace he gave her and reads the letters he left. In those moments, she feels Aki's presence beside her.
The end.
